I see this is a old thread but this just happened to mine. What was the fix??? I just replaced the short harness that goes from the 3rd brake light assembly to the connector above the headliner rt above rear sliding window
I use 89 octane with my Gen 1 majority of the time cause if price. Occasionally I put 93 in. My experience is that at 87 octane it runs but mpg is really bad. Its happy at 89 and when my Gen 1 was a daily driver I would average 14. 6 going back and forth to work with 89. 93 octane I would get a...
My Gen 1 started doing this around 100 when the mileage got up there. Never did it when newer it would go smoothly all the way up to around 115 give or take a few mph till the governor limiter kicked in. When I did full shock rebuild and replaced my lwr ball joints the wobble went away
Definitely Worth Saving. Let us know how it goes. Engine and drive train is worth Big bucks as is. New body might be a challenge but can be done with the rt resources. After its all said and done I think it be still cheaper than getting brand new off the lot
Thats a Beauty. Jealous of the Super Charger, always wanted one. Gonna wait a few yrs when I do a Engine rebuild then I'll modify internals to safely handle pressures.
Don't know what 4A is. But if it's adding another axle that would rob power. If ya spinning your loosing, deflating rear tires will give ya more traction. It was the only way I was able to beat a Vette back when I had a Mustang. Take it for what its worth
Foot on the Brake. Get RPMs up to about 1800 at same time then floor it. Drag straps usually have rubber down for prep. Deflate rear tires to around atleast 32 lbs. If ya spin on 1st pass witch I don't think you will then take 10 more lbs down
Yeh I've heard of that but only from a small few. Mine is 2011 183 thousand some miles and never had any issues except 1 coil pack went out on me at 90k. I was going to do a complete rebuild just to make it new again as I already fixed all the rust issues. Looks brand New again. After talking to...
All alternators have a life span on any manufacturer. Cars average around 130,000 miles and trucks around 180,000. Depends on how much you rev in it. The faster the engine turning the faster the alternator is spinning. The carbon brushes are what wear out. Voltage regulators and the rest are...
Don't be worried about high mileage if its properly maintained if ya come across another. 6.2 is Very reliable many of us have high mileage and 0 problems. Maintenance is Key. Definitely replace or rebuild Alternator after 160,000 miles. I had mine rebuilt at 180,000 miles and the people that...
Your in a good spot. Both are terrific Trucks. But with the extra money you'll have if ya do the Gen 1, you could mode the crap out of it to your liking
I replaced my cab corners and rockers just recently. Truck looks brand NEW now. A friend of mine did it for me as a side job. Mine didn't look as bad as yours and my inners were completely fine. Key is to take care of it before the inner panels start to rust. But you won't know that until the...
Mine is a 2011 and Love It. Never had any problems just regular maintenance and have 183+thousand miles on it. Currently doing some light restoration stuff from NE winters. Don't have all the techy stuff the newer models have but I not into that stuff anyways. It does everything and then some...
Just be sure to take care of your outer rocker panels sooner than later so the inner panels don't get rusty. It big bucks to repair the inners. Was hard to find someone who would do rust repairs. Most repair places just want to do bolt on stuff like replacing the entire uniside rather than...
Mine is a KEEPER. Just now putting 12K into it. Did some engine mods and doing light restoration stuff, fixing all minor issues that NE winters caused. Then eventually doing a complete engine Rebuild. Lessons learned when way back when I got rid of my fox body mustang, still miss that car and I...
Awsome. My truck is currently going under alot if restoration stuff. If I have some coin left after all done I'll definitely get back to ya. If they ain't sold by then
