Big project/fix planned for this week

From what I remember you get access to everything for 3 days. And, you can save whatever you want to pdf or print. I saved everything I could think of that I would ever need to do with my truck.

Low torque at WOT no fault codes

Any luck? Did you end up finding any broken studs or exhaust leak?

Big project/fix planned for this week

Road tests have all been good so far so I decided to finish up by changing the diff fluids. Rear was weird. I never noticed it before, but the metal ring that I have seen before between the cover and the case was installed on the outside of the cover??? And there was grey sealant between. Must...

Big project/fix planned for this week

Thanks! Yes, I heard a ticking sound at idle that got better as the motor got to temp. I heard a "rattle like sound" at full throttle as well the first few times I got on it. I thought it might be IWE related. I didnt think exhaust leak until I Got an under boost code and saw a video that had...

Big project/fix planned for this week

It feels like a different truck now. Quiet at idle, smooth even acceleration. No drips of oil/coolant after a day of driving it around in this Vegas heat. I never thought an exhaust leak could make that much of a difference. (Wish I would have known that was the issue months ago!) Mentally, I...

Big project/fix planned for this week

All wrapped up. Had a hell of a time getting the turbo back in on the passenger side. If I had to do it again, I would remove the downpipes. I'm leaving the fender wells and trim off dor a couple days just in case I need to address any oil/coolant leaks. I shouldn't since I used all new orings...

Big project/fix planned for this week

For access, yes. Wheels, fender flares, liners. It's alot of work to get the job done though. I usually pay for the 72 hour subscription to the Ford factory service manual and download/save what I need. It's like $20 for 3 days and you can save everything you need to PDF...

Big project/fix planned for this week

I buy nitrile gloves by the case! Today was different though, nothing went right, gloves ripped, didn’t care. Filthy hands haha

Big project/fix planned for this week

Got the driver's side all buttoned up, not too bad. Manifolds just look good! Moved onto the passenger side. Little more of a PITA. Had to remove starter, and less room to get the front studs out of the head. Leak did not appear to be as bad as the driver's side. I had 4 snapped off in total...

Big project/fix planned for this week

Started a few hours ago. Going well, didn't have to throw a single tool! Took the intercooler out for the Turbosmart BOV while everything else is apart. Coolant drained, everything else removed for access to the turbo and manifold. Decent leak. Old Vs. New

Low torque at WOT no fault codes

I heard it when the truck was cold, actually thought I was chasing a IWE issue until I vacuum tested that whole system. Lessened when the truck was warmed up. I usually never have my windows down, so it wasn't standing out terribly to me. I saw a video that someone else posted of an exhaust...

Low torque at WOT no fault codes

Just something else to consider, as I just ran into it. May or may not relate to you. I had similar symptoms with inconsistent aceleration, no codes. Check your exhaust manifolds through the wheel well. Are you missing any studs towards the rear? Mine is missing 2 on the drivers side and 1 on...

Big project/fix planned for this week

I am using a 91 octane tune from 5star Tuning. I'm very happy with it. I told them i wanted a conservative tune because it is my daily driver. I'm not trying to max the truck out. I did not do any fuel system upgrades. It's hot as shit out here in Vegas and I don't want to push it. The swap...

Big project/fix planned for this week

I took the truck in for the cam phaser recall, and the dealer fu*ked something up. I got a call from the service advisor and they said the bad news is they broke some bolt on my motor (didnt ask for details because of the next part) but the good news is they applied to Ford to replace the long...

Big project/fix planned for this week

Sorry for the lengthy post..Last November I replaced my turbos with the Garrett Powermax turbos from Full Race. 1-because my truck hit 100k and ESP was up, and 2- because I was hearing a rattle sound from the driver's side turbo (or so I thought). I got a new long block under warranty at 82k and...

Oil on Boost(?) sensor after new turbos

Thank you for that. I like wrapping my head around how stuff works. I was looking at a catch can for the driver side as well.

Oil on Boost(?) sensor after new turbos

Thanks for the reply, I have a snap on scan tool, I scanned it a couple weeks ago. Out of town now so can’t look, but I believe it was P0106 maybe? I’ll confirm when I get home. I think I’m going to clean out all my piping and intercooler too.

Oil on Boost(?) sensor after new turbos

I've tried searching multple times/ways and cannot find if this has already been covered. Stats: 2017, short block replaced under warranty about 12k miles ago. I replaced the stock turbos with Garrett Powermax turbos with all new oil/coolant lines about 3k miles ago. After a few hundred miles...

P144C code help please! (Solved thanks)

I installed the new evap ejector on Friday. At the time I had a pending code and a permanent code (both P144C) Now I just have a permanent code, the pending one went away. Im hoping this is fixed now. Does anyone know if the permanent one will go away as well after the correct drive cycles? Or...

P144C code help please! (Solved thanks)

I reached out last week to see if I could get a replacement evap ejector since I thought I narrowed it down to that. It just arrived. I'm going to install it and see if thats the fix. It looks different looking through the inside and the opening is a bit larger. Maybe the design was updated...

P144C code help please! (Solved thanks)

Thank you, I was suspecting that part was the problem. I will remove and inspect when I get home. I noticed on the aftermarket ones, the T piece that comes off at a 90 seems like it is threaded on. I'll check it out to make sure its not blocked.

P144C code help please! (Solved thanks)

Thanks for looking and for the reply, I already have the white beveled tube installed. Ive had it in there for a few years since I put my AFE intake on. I transferred it to the AMS inlet tubes, and made sure the bevel was facing the right way. Went so fas as to stick my inspection camera down...

P144C code help please! (Solved thanks)

Hey everyone, I posted this a few days ago in the general discussion section, but I think it may be seen more here... I have a 2017. In December I installed Garrett Powermax turbos and AMS inlet tubes with the larger silicon adapters. I also have an AFE intake which was already on the truck. I...

I have a 2017. In December I installed Garrett Powermax turbos and AMS inlet tubes with the larger silicon adapters. I also have an AFE intake which was already on the truck. I transferred the white beveled insert tube that came with that kit to the AMS inlet tubes already. Since December, I...

AMS inlet tubes and Powermax Turbos - Silicone Coupler

I know this is a bit older post but it came up with my keyword search. I did the same mods to my truck recently. Garrett Powermax turbos, AMS inlet tubes with the larger silicon adapters. I was wondering if you had and issues with throwing an emission code. I keep getting P144C "purge...
