That's a great idea. I looked at that possibility. I often run a rack that sticks out back behind the rear of the cab and slightly over the bed cap. I'd have to route the antenna though that and avoid putting any gear over it. It's a possibility. And might have to revisit it.
My '17 Raptor was an awesome vehicle. Took it all though Baja for several months of camping/travelling. Worked flawlessly. It's also been a go-to vehicle I use for search and rescue in the mountains of colorado. Yes...it's totally worth it. If you haven't bought one yet, get it checked out by a...
What smurfslayer said...in particular regarding warranties and what you're buying / may give up. As I'm not a mechanic (besides the basics), I think it's prudent to find a knowledgeable, independent mechanic to go over a vehicle. I cannot speak to Raptors as mine have been new, but using an...
I use a VHF radio running a 1/4 wave antenna on my Gen 3. Currently, it's hooked up to the rear door and routed inside via the window. It works acceptably, but I'd like to run it on top of of the cap I have over my bed. This would have me run the connection inside my bed cap, out through the...
Yes! I've owned a '17 and '22 F150 Raptor. Best trucks I've ever owned. However, for the work I do (mountain SAR), I found myself using an older Toyota 4Runner (2" lift) for many rescues. It's simply a smaller vehicle, easier to get down narrow trails/park on narrow roads, and it's the exact...
Sorry. Just saw this reply. These are Method Race Wheels 305 NV Matte Black 17x8.5" 6x135", 0mm offset. I us them with my Nokian Hakkapeliitta studded snows. Makes the truck so much better in snow and ice. Those wide 315 tires are like skis without them.
I had an annoying buzz in my '22 Raptor. It drove me ******* mad. It was generally inconsistent. However, it turned out to be related to having a electrical plug with two USB sockets I used for my phone charger. As soon as I removed that, it went away. Something to do with the three pronged...
I'm not the OP, but I got a $7k-$8k quote for a XPEL stealth wrap for a raptor with a bed cap. https://www.xpel.com/products/paint-protection-film/stealth
Shop is in Denver FYI. Not sure how sensitive pricing is to region.
Love the new color! Keep us updated on how the wrap holds up. I was considering adding a 'stealth' wrap to my oxford white raptor to make it look matte white. Regardless, great color. Congrats.
Sure...it doesn't work for everyone. However, it is absolutely part of the solution. It clearly works for some folks now and, with support, is can be expanded to far more individuals as well. I think it's better to have multiple solutions to the problem.
That seems to be a mostly geographical problem. Many (specifically, not 'most') of California seems to have decent coverage. Same with parts of Colorado (the two areas I have experience with). Hence, the proliferation of electric vehicles. These things are everywhere. However, there is clearly...
After this thread came out, I called my dealer and had them remove the tailgate applique and graphics package (as I didn't want either, and it was already on the build they had allocated). The change was picked up by Ford, and they moved the build date up by a couple of weeks. Changes below...
Hah! Totally get it. I wound't open that file either. Regardless, the raw data is there in the first link. Biden is no more of an anti-oil industry than trump was pro-oil. Trump wasn't some kind of pro-oil guy. He did a few things that made for interesting television, but nothing that had a...
If you have this answer, the entire oil industry wants to talk to you (and let me know so we can both become billioniares :headbang:). It's unknown. That's the risk. Same this year as every year.
I'm apolitical on the matter, but the "Biden is chocking off the oil industry" or other such...
The US in still a net exporter of crude. It has been since 2018 and will continue to be this year. (and the US has been the world leading exporter of refined petroleum products like gasoline for over a decade!). More importantly to your points, Biden has approved more drilling permits in his...
