Living in TX is hard...especially if you came from the mountains. Not much in TX other than way out west, and it takes a good day of driving just to get out of the state. If you lived UT/CO/WY/MT/UT/NM, even NV, you can usually drive 4 hours any direction and be somewhere different and see...
I actually stayed in town (family house in north side of town). It was the one night in civilization. I did laundry and showered before doing one last leg home.
4 used + 1 new (spare) BFG KO'2 with 19k miles.
Original factory tires from a 2018 Raptor that mostly saw pavement/highway. Previous owner did not rotate the spare into rotation/balance schedule, so it appears to be unused. You can probably get another 15k miles off of these.

I think any real aggressive offroading done, and you need to look at welded frames. These covers can only handle so much abuse.
That being said: mine survived an 8-day overlanding trip. There were some times I was driving 60mph through dirt fields and bouncing pretty hard, and I also did a...
That looks like the exact offset I'm looking for. What offset are these? I'm wanting to go with these wheels but didn't know what the offset options they come in.
***Disregard. Read original post and see that they are 0 offset. ****
And the Midland radio...is that for CB, or are you wanting a radio with dual-band and all capabilities? Reason I ask is if you are wanting something full-coverage on the spectrum, I'd do handhelds. Won't have to wire in a truck radio; mobile so if you have to leave your rig in an emergency and...
Won't be space with radio and ball-joint mounts - have to pick one or the other. You might look at putting the Builtright in for the radio and then somehow adding in the 67-Designs F150-series base as well behind it for all the other accessories.
It's a Builtright base screwed in (that's easy) with the 67-Designs hardware screwed on. The Builtright comes with some instructions as well if you need. Hardest part is bolting a ball-joint plate to the Builtright - trying to get your hands/fingers wrapped underneath the Builtright mount from...
KO2 is an all-terrain tire; KM3 is a "mud-tire."
KM3 is also thicker ply. I love the KO2's that come stock on the Raptor. I think the road handling and manners are great, I liked them in wet-road conditions, and sporting on gravel roads is fine. I really like load C KO2's for the soft feel...
Running the Truss rack by Uptop Overland. It is the lightest rack out there at 36lbs! I'd say this maiden voyage was a good test for it holding up to vibration and jolting. Nothing's come loose yet. Pre-drilled slots are nice for accessories, and they have it all lined up for things like the...
I didn't. Had to do the best I could researching route from home on the computer.
Never got pics of the tight or tense places. There were times there wasn't even room to get out or for it to be safe enough to jump out and get a pic. Sometimes I wouldn't even realize how gnarly and difficult...
Sorry, for the hi-jack, but I saw were you mentioned your brake pedal is very stiff on startup. My truck just started this. I searched forum for an idea why, didn't find anything. Any idea what is causing this and if this is in need of a fix?
Very late to this thread, but my advice for a midwestern wanting baby offroad:
Find some gravel roads in your area, start driving them fast, play with the drive modes and tranny.
Progress to finding some Forest Service roads in a national forest nearest to you. Start driving the fire roads...
LOL! That tire's like 500lbs! Sheesh. I once flipped a tractor tire for a mile. My bicep tendons were flamed out and done! Expected the back to be sore and stiff but the hardest was actually getting a grip on the thing an hour into it.
Raptor Assault is for getting familiarized on the truck's ability in a group setting. You can quickly do the same by throwing yourself in those requiring terrains on your own trip, and at your pace without the group lag taking the time.
And I also use this setup for airing up. I know Powertank sells their setup for something like $800 (FUUUUCCCCCCC!!!). I did this for just a little over $100. 14lb bottle - costs $26 to get swapped.
3-ply. Ability to take a beating. Sharp hematite, granite, and pegmatite in the high mountain trails can trash tires or destroy them. The truck and load I have is light enough to do Load D rating. The ruggedness of the X3's in Load E inspired a lot of confidence. I read on here others saying...
I didn't have too much mud encountered until I got into UT and the snow melt and started creating a mess. That combined with some ranching land where the cows wallowed and pooed enough in (yuck). I had about two inches caked on the truck. Truck started making a loud sound on startup cold. It...
