This…. Had them do mine a couple weeks ago; they were finished in just a couple hours, and my truck was completely transformed.
Going back next Tuesday for the Top Hats; would have been nice to do it w/the shocks already out, but they didn’t have the bearings when my shocks were done.
They...
Finally found this more appropriate thread to ask a question… I understand the pan needs to be dropped to change the filter, but I still like the idea of replacing the stock pan for one that has a drain to expedite the drain, and reduce the mess of dropping the pan while full of fluid for the...
Maybe I’m doing something wrong in my search, but it looks like the trans coolers for the F250/F350 series is just an enlarged version of the plate and block cooler on the F150 that is mounted underneath the truck next to the transmission, vs. mounted up in front of the radiator like most...
Will do UCA and the tie rods at some point, as well as better brakes, but need to put some $$ into my track car first.
Are there any other suspension or body components I should be looking at?
Will start another thread in the appropriate forum for other mods…looking at a new/better radiator...
Finally heard back from Izzy and have the Tow assist package in progress; tentatively set up for two weeks from now. Timing should be about perfect to pick up my Deaver +3 HDs from Deaver’s HQ about 30 minutes from Izzy’s shop.
I also have some RPG +2 shackles OTW; I’ll take them with me and...
Agree…but while it was under warranty, I wasn’t gonna mess with any major components. They went into my transmission 2-3 times trying to fix a hard shift issue, finally resolved by replacing a couple controllers and some other bits inside the case, so I got a couple ‘free’ trans fluid changes...
I plan to keep this truck forever; or until Ford decides to make another SCAB Raptor.
Will go through the truck as stuff needs to be replaced, and upgrade where it makes sense to do so. Cooling and other fluid management systems, as well as the drivetrain, will get extra attention to...
Bit of a thread necro here, but after a couple hours trying to find a suitable folding D-ring to work with the stock bed bolts without grinding, etc. I finally found these:

Started out with a plastic scraper and scotch brite pads…eventually had to (very carefully) use a metal scraper on some of the crap on the outer edges. That stuff was really baked on.
After 1/2 hour of that though, I got fed up and used a brass wire cleanup wheel on a drill. Was very careful...
…OK, not gonna lie, cleaning that case lip was a pain in the ass.
But I wanted that surface to be absolutely clean; spend the time and effort now so it’s one and done. Spent a fair bit of time degreasing and cleaning all the holes for the mounting hardware too, and used Locktite Red since I...
Diff fluid was a lot cleaner/clearer than I expected:
Of note, the bolt heads on my cover were definitely 1/2”, and not 13mm as I’ve read in several places. My truck is an early ‘18MY build though, actually built in ‘17, so that could be the difference.
Now begins the tedious task of...
Edit: OT: The Lube Locker gasket finally arrived…hooray!
…gasket on the left is the one that came with the cover. Looks good, but the Lube Locker gasket is definitely the way to go.
NLT 50K miles; a lot more frequently if using 4WD or otherwise stressing the drivetrain.
Every 25K miles, or every 5 oil changes is an easy schedule to remember. It’s ridiculously easy to do when you’re already under the truck doing an oil change, and cheap insurance.
Still waiting for the damn lube locker gasket to arrive to do my rear diff cover…it’s been stuck in Houston for 3 days now. I know, I know…#1stworldproblems
Went ahead and did the transfer case…easy, peasy. I’m a bit ashamed to admit it, but I’m pushing 70K or more miles since I last drained...
From what I can see, it looks like you only need to drop the cross member, or at least unbolt the trans and jack up the tail so the back of the pan will clear the cross member as you pull it out.
Also likes like you need to disconnect the cooler on ‘19+ models.
Bump for the same question… Now that I’ve rolled over 100K miles, and officially out of even the extended warranty, it’s time to invest more into better preventive maintenance and related hardware.
A few options out there, but I’m leaning towards this one from PPE.
Anyone using something...
@TomDirt …yeah, remember what I said about not wanting to open Pandora’s box? :hahano:
Gonna pop by HM Offroad OTW back from having Izzy work his magic on my Raptor. A true street legal supercharged V8 RWD pre-runner along the lines of @06z truck, but with maybe another inch of travel up...
It was done by Billet Badges … not cheap at $300 for my semi-custom design, but an incredible piece of automotive artwork IMHO. They do great work, and were awesome to work with…great communication and collaboration too.
My badge was on their home page for a while, and is still showing on the...
I guess this should really be “what will you do to your Raptor mañana?” …just finished doing the brakes on one of my daughter’s friend’s car, and done wrenchin’ for tonight! LOL
Still waiting for the lube locker gasket anyway; should be here tomorrow.
And yes, it’s the Spicer vs. the Ford...
