THe ONLY downfall of a gen 1 is the fuel mileage. I bought a 2011 in 14 and have loved it from day 1. If you ar even asking the question, Im guessing you'd regret going to a mid size truck.
I wasnt sure I liked the grill when I first bought my truck, but now I have come to see it as one of the most recognizable and iconic features specific to the Raptor. You spot them in a crowd much more easily because of the grill. Just my .02c
Agreed. I dont see many style points there. Even stole the grill design from Toyota! And I hope their trannys will hold up to the extra HP better than the 2500's with the Cummins. motor do. That truck has a great motor with a lackluster transmission that my mechanic friends at work sure arent...
Nice looking Raptor, Welcome aboard. What part of Phoenix are you in?
As for Crown King, we did that run a couple of years ago and took the Senator Hwy to Prescott. Easy run and I think some mud would make it even more fun.
Sweet! I'd love to have one at my house. I use 4 post and 2 post lifts at work a lot and I actually prefer the 4 post fpor the ease of set up. Does yours have the rolling jacks too? They are worth every penny if you dont have them already.
Nice box build. Im running 2 shallow 10's under my back seat now for SQ as well. I used the area under the seat where the factory sub was to install my 2 Alpine PDX amps. I picked up a SI BM Mk IV off Diyma before the Mk V's came out, but it was just too big for an under seat sub in a S Cab. It...
Dont know about Gen 2's but my 2011 has a shit load of 16ga wire and Very little 20 ga wire anywhere i've seen, interior or exterior. IF the new F150's have gone to 20 ga wire as their wire of least expense, I know where they learned about it.
It was a funny, if not all too familiar read. I've heard it all my life - My truck is better than your truck!! And inflated gas mileage claims go right along with it! I've been primarily a Ford guy all my life, and in my profession, I work on a lot of Chevy pickups, so I'll probably never buy...
Installed a fan and some extra ventilation holes in my amp box. I'm running 2 Alpine PDX amps stacked in an enclosed amp rack under the rear seat and they were getting really hot on long drives. It really freaked out the wife. :gasp:, Ha. I hope this helps
:busaballs: Noah Emoji? How cool is...
Mine started out that way in my 11 and gradually got worse. If I recall, the ones behind the radio control individual zone temp settings while the 2 behind the glove box control defroster or vents and the hot/cold mix respectively. Try those settings while the motor is making noise to narrow...
Im running mine on mid perch. Started out on low perch but I thought the ride was a little too soft. I really didnt like the amount of brake dive on low perch either, so I went with mid perch. I have Nationals +2 in the back and the truck sits level after about 1.5 years. And Im much happier...
Put mine in yesterday. Thanks for doing this, Talbor. On the flat washer under the bed bolts, I just put them in the vise just loose enough for the bolt head to clear and gave the bolts a good whack with a double jack. They popped right off. Reversed the procedure to put them back on after...
Contact Noah@thecarstereocompany. He is the resident Raptor audio whiz. He also knows how to integrate the Maestro system for adding aftermarket head units in our trucks. Good guy to deal with too!
I looked for Walker Evans Legend wheels too and struck out. Probably for the same reasons - looking for something different, didnt like black wheels, didnt want straight spoked wheels, etc. I found these instead. Picked them up from CUSTOMWHEELS4U (vendor here on FRF). They are good to deal with...
