    GEN 1 2010 6.2 ps pump

I drain and refill the PS reservoir with new fluid at every oil change. I also have a rare earth magnet in the reservoir. No problems so far with nearly 90K on the clock.

Long term feedback on using the Oedro underseat storage box?

Suicide doors? Geeze, I haven't see that terminology in a long time.

GEN 2 What else is in your garage?

Unnecessary since I live in a very rural area, and of course one does mountainboarding outside. I wear an industrial grade half-mask with NIOSH P100 filters everywhere else. Thanks for the thought. ;)

GEN 2 Help needed! Both key locked inside the car

Ah. Nothing new there, and it won't work if the vehicle does not have a mechanical key-type lock.

GEN 2 Help needed! Both key locked inside the car

Well, I'm pretty much a thing of the past too! ;) So please bring me up to date. What is a lockout kit, and how does it work?

GEN 2 Help needed! Both key locked inside the car

That tool used to be called a Slim Jim, and it used to be available at auto parts stores. Some law enforcement officers still carry them to rescue motorists who have self-stranded. It won't work on a lot of newer vehicles, though, and I am genuinely surprised that it worked on a Raptor.

    Debadging..yay or nah?

I took the dealer badge off the tailgate as soon as I moved away from the town in which I made the purchase. (I left it on until then in case I needed their service department. In that eventuality I wanted them to know that I bought it from them.) But I would never, ever remove the 6.2L badge...

GEN 2 What else is in your garage?

One must always dress properly for the occasion. In this case: safety gear. I wear a Bell skating/skateboarding helmet, knee and elbow protection, Wrist Savers, and gloves. Haven't needed that protection yet, but I will.

GEN 2 What else is in your garage?

Hey, fellow nutso speed adventurer, what does a 125mm tri-wheel rollerblade look like? Would you please post a photo? I've never heard of anything that would remotely fit that description. A couple of the things I've learned so far about mountainboarding: - You don't ride it like a skateboard...

GEN 2 What else is in your garage?

I practically grew up on a skateboard as a kid, and made several. Mountainboards are different! You pretty much can't "skate" a mountainboard because of the bindings and the size of the tires. It takes a really awkward, wide stance to push. Secondly, these things are wicked fast. I only...

GEN 2 What else is in your garage?

My new ride. Fast, great fuel economy, and entertaining for the neighbors. I rode by three deer this evening and it's evidently entertaining for them, too!

PSA....change out your factory lug nuts before it is too late 31k miles

Not about northern Nevada, you don't. My comment was about northern Nevada, not "the industry." I'm a very active reserve sheriff's deputy, and I know exactly what goes on our roads here because I've I've picked it up at the county yard and used it myself in the course of duty.

PSA....change out your factory lug nuts before it is too late 31k miles

Yes sir! I observe it to be a mixture of sand and salt. Now how would @Mister Pinky, who evidently lives in Ohio, manage to convince himself that he knows anything about winter road maintenance in northern Nevada? Boggles the mind. The whole world thinks that Las Vegas is Nevada. Actually...

PSA....change out your factory lug nuts before it is too late 31k miles

I have almost 88,000 miles on my 2011 GEN1, and since I bought it I have lived in both northern Alabama and northern Nevada. I rotate my tires every 5,000 to 6,000 miles, and there are no signs of the lug nuts swelling or seizing on the lugs. So I have to ask if Ford went to cheaper lug nuts...

What do I need to know about fog lights?

Two things: You are very likely to use your fog lights most when on the road and they therefore should be DOT compliant. You don't want to spend a bunch of money on your new fog lights only to incur the ire of your local constabulary and then spend more money on a citation, on replacement DOT...

I paid $1155.82 for a new transfer case, $24.00 for new bolts, $540 for labor, and got a warranty. $1,719.82 total.

    Transfer Case Question

I have a 2011 6.2L GEN1, and had to have the transfer case replaced. Warranty had expired, and it wasn't cheap. Symptoms: On and off wrench warning on the dash, and it intermittently would not engage in 4H. No unusual noises or behavior other than that. Took it to the local dealer, and in the...

    Starter at 2x speed

They (NAPA, Zone, Advance, O'Reilly's...) all have a machine that measures the current draw as you engage the starter. Same machine can be set to also test the battery and alternator. Ah, isn't in your doctor's best interest to tell you you're sick and need to be in his care? Isn't it in your...
