As far as secret roads or special areas, I didn’t really go to Ocala Forest as the main trip…I was up there checking out a potential F350 dually as a tow pig. I just was in the Salt springs area and I have the Gia’s GPS app and took a few Forest Roads driving around and stopped at a couple of...
I don't want to really give names, (it starts with 4X4) they were very responsive, however, I hope the install guy learned something that day...
PS; and no it wasn't 4X4WD Parts, I won't trust them with your truck...
Hello Rick, I see your are back...Yes, I would've loosen and tighten to match the number of threads, but the bottom plate on the driver's side was on backwards and if you see on the marked pic, one u-bolt side was way off. The combination of the dude's lack of knowledge was evident by placing...
I try to do the work myself, or at least I have...This time I factored time, and lack of extra help at the moment, and that I had to get an alignment also. So, I didn't really save time, and the alignment is off a little still-scheduled a re-check at their other shop that has a newer and better...
Had them reversed…and by then it was really late and I didn’t want to waste another day and I corrected the ubolts install at home the next day in a monsoon storm even!
They managed to install the new shackles backwards. Then I noticed that the leaf pack were installed with an impact vs the way I asked them to hand tight fit first and then in a two step torque cross sequence was needed to set and avoid un even install!
So I hired the best goons I could find in So FL to “help” with the springs. So I took them to a 4X4 shop after I power lifted them onto the bed of the beast. I painstakingly researched, interviewed, outlined what I wanted and even provided printed paperwork with steps and torque settings etc...
I also saw his vids on the U tubes, and he bought a second Rap G1, forget why…so, you got yourself a movie star G1…priced premium. Once you get to the next few basic maintenance items, the truck will be up to date and ready for mods and go broke.
If you look closely in the pic, you will see the little gerbil food and at least one completely split boot, and if I remember two more had small splits. I did this at around 100K. My coils were fine so I just basically refurbished them, new pellets, the inner spring and the boots.
No problemo, my a Canuke brother…and like Mr. Porter mentioned, search and you shall find these and other maintenance threads. My tips were made as a starter set of easy things to work on for the DIY and save himself a little mullah.
¿Ru being serious, or just messing w/me? They are the little gerbil looking pellet in the ignition coil. Unless he is getting a misfire and or a bad coil code, it’s still a good and easy replacement. The boots being that old get brittle and can split easily when you pull them to replace the...
If I were you; the spark plugs, wires, boots and new resister pellets; then move on to all drivetrain fluids, and maybe the Ujoints & yoke seals. Just a start and in no particular order unless you find it needing attention right away.
