+1 on hearing this.
I have always been an exhaust guy, but this has been the first vehicle that I have owned that I have not thrown exhaust on. I still have not found one I like with this engine note, although Corsa is the top runner for me so far.
So I changed it up from the Rebounds...... I have been wanting a more aggressive stance and larger wheels so I decided to go with the Methods 605 NV, 20x10 wrapped in Ridge Grappler 35's.
I couldn't be more happy with the stance, exactly what I was looking for. Had to trim a tad in the front...
I think I may be in the bucket now too. It sounds like a crap rattling around in a tin can on most cold starts. Is this most likely the cam phaser rattle that everyone is referring to?
The truck is running fine, but I definitely want to get this fixed sooner than later before the Cobb Stage 2...
To update this thread, I went back to 35's in fear of limiting my truck just for the looks. If I wanted to spend the extra $$$ to build the suspension/body around 37s, I would have kept them. Love these 35 RGs, looks mean and feel fantastic on the road...
I posted a thread not too long ago asking about 37 KO2s vs 35 Ridge Grapplers, some info here and picture of the 37 KO2s I put on my Icon 17s (different offset than OEM 17s but still 17s): https://www.fordraptorforum.com/threads/35-nitto-ridge-grappler-vs-37-bfg-ko2.72752/
I was rubbing in the...
I understand, only adding more images and information for future searchers!
I may go back to 35s depending on how today goes, I Don’t want to limit the truck just for looks if I’m not going full bore on building the suspension around 37s
UPDATE:
Got the 37 KO2s put on yesterday and absolutely love he look of them. Very minor intermittent rubbing on the front driver plastic fender. I'm at 1.75 level on the front (icon level kit), stock in rear.
Fills up the wheel well very nicely. As for handling and performance on the street...
Thanks for the input guys.
I'm going to have them put on the 37 KO2's and see if they rub or how bad and will make the decision then.
Not going to charge me until I decide to stick with the 37s or just go 35s.
The 37 KO2's are only 69lbs per tire, not bad at all.
I will report back with...
So just went to get a balance yesterday and noticed the my rear stock KO2s had some crazy crowning, the edges of the tire are in great condition while the middle of the tire is worn down to almost wear line. I’m really not sure how this happened, I have not towed anything and have run about 38...
I have the 1.75" front collars installed and I think it makes this truck sit perfect. Cant stand the raked look, but not a fan of big lifted trucks either.
Has such mean lines and stance OEM, you dont need much!!!
Great thread, thank you for sharing! And the pictures are perfect for what I was bouncing back and forth with (35s or 37's with my Icon Rebounds)!
Excuse me if this is a noob question but I also have the Icon level kit (set at 1.75) with no rear suspension modification. If I went with the 37...
So the stock KO2s are getting worn down and I’m really torn on what tires to get next. I don’t want to go to 37s but I want the beefiest tire I can get in a 35.
I really love the KO2s but I want something that looks a tad bigger for a 35. I have the Icon Rebound 17s.
Pictures would be great...
I have noticed this too, but its not a big variation in RPMs. I haven't really paid much attention since there hasn't seemed to cause any actual driving issues...
Curious if anyone has dug into this and found it to be something greater than just a cold rough idle.
+1 on this.
I am leveled with the icon kit and curious of this as well... if anyone has pictures or input, greatly appreciated.
I don't like the idea of a heavy tire, but arent the KO2's a lighter 37 than most?
Nice to see some other Jax guys!
I used 4WP on Atlantic to put on the icon level, they were fine.
On my E92 M3; I used S&S Custom Exhaust (St. Johns/Atlantic) for exhaust stuff and was really happy, good guys. I think they could do more as well...
Haven't got to exhaust or engine mods on...
As others have said, I feel like the 1.75 has a very slight rake once it settled (you can kind of tell from the side shot) but I honestly like that look. When I first put them on, I got a little worried because the 1.75 almost looked nose high! But then everything worked in good!
As far as...
Right, it may not be something loose or wrong with the collar, it could be another bolt they loosed elsewhere from install/alignment. On my last truck (Titan), when they installed the level kit, they left one of the tie rods a tad loose and I was getting minor rattling when hitting bumps.
Just...
