Here is mine with Deaver K96HD +3 Raptor springs. I'll be running a chase rack (spares, fuel, jack, air, etc.) and wanted the extra height and capacity. Should sag a bit once its set up.
A few months back I installed a set of SVC bars on my Gen1 with +3 Deavers. I think most of these companies assume shops are going to install them. I got good support from SVC and they answered all my questions but there was no instructions included. The SVC kit has weld-in front spring perch...
Yeah, I think the rear axle dump is the best for clearance and keeping sounds out of the cab. If I had to do it again this would probably be it. Although I do like my "shotgun" pipes hanging out the side. My boys and I call it the "Prius horn."
I have a Stainless Works lighting exit and had to cut/weld the system to move around the SVC ladder bar bracket. You'd really have to twist and bend it around the frame to get it back up into the sheet metal, I considered it for a hot minute. It does reverb a bit inside the cab but it's not...
I removed my spare and all the associated hardware to show off my diff cover LOL. It's in the bed now but will have a chase rack to hold soon. I couldn't find anything within reach that would plug into this so I removed it. It was pretty much full of mud and dirt.
The gasket on my original had failed after 4 or 5 years. The light filled with water and the resulting corrosion shorted out the LED's. I was able to get it replaced under my warranty but paid a deductible. The dealer installed it but when I got home did my own work on it. I made sure to clean...
We did a trip there back in August before my son went back to school. We stay on the upper East side of the lake at a spot my friend has been going to for years. We did a day trip up to Kumiva peak and the springs on the way. It was great ripping through the desert there. I just installed all...
I've done 20' trim but stuck it inside through the rear slider. Anything over 12' sucks with the tailgate up. I need a bunch of 10' plywood for my garage and was looking at some alternatives. There are several options on Amazon for an extender/bracket that goes in the trailer hitch. They aren't...
I like the greasable option but honestly these joints will probably outlast the truck. You can align the SVC arms without removing the bolts. The heim joint is inside a threaded collar that is cut with LH/RH threads. Tightening the adjuster "loosens" the heim end an moves it out. No drill...
I just installed the full front kit on my truck from SVC. As @Ryan C mentioned you have to drill the top of the spindle to 3/4" to accept the new bolt. The supplied fasteners are all A/N style and have long shoulders so the moving parts aren't sitting on the threads. This makes all the bolts...
I've used several Wurth products over the years when restoring old BMW's. They are all (or at least have been) top notch German products. I'm doing something similar when I put my Deavers in the rear. 3M also has some decent undercoating products but not the stuff you find at the auto parts...
Welcome to the club. I love my '14 and it looks like you've got a great base to start with. I agree with @CoronaRaptor the '14 HID's are pretty decent. I'd spend the money on aux lights. Have fun with the project.
First off, nice work! That looks great. If I was making this I'd put two (max three) vertical bars in to take some structural load off the light mounts in the center. So maybe like this: OOO|OO|OOO if you get my drift.
I'd recommend a visit to SVC, they are in your area. Have a chat with Jeff and discuss some options with him, he's very knowledgeable and has been around the Raptor since inception. I have a full kit shipping from them soon, can't wait to install. Since I am way far away and an x-mechanic I'll...
And just to make a point the recovery truck guy pulls him all the way to the road/hard pack LOL
Watching the whole video now. It looks like the Jeep guy had shovels. Guess they got tired of digging.
I'm heading out to the NV desert this weekend so this reminds me of a few things; remove my "Cali" plates LOL
But seriously, guy doesn't even have a shovel to attempt a self-recovery? Air down the tires? Maybe he should work on his off road skills more and spend less time at the tattoo parlor...
My kid has one of those "200 video games" that is built around a joystick and a couple buttons. I tried that and it couldn't interpret the video signal. I have heard portable DVD players work fine as well as video game consoles (Xbox, PSx).
This is great to hear. I'm looking to mod my '14 and the Fox 3.0's are on the list. I only have 60K on my truck but if I pull the shocks to rebuild them I figure I might at well replace, at least that's the story I'll give my wife ;-)
