Went to start it up today, was idling rough, found out why...the center diamond piece inside the header collector is non exhistant...as in they never welded one in so it’s not sealed. Stainless works is over nighting a new header. Unreal that that was missed by quality control. Not to mention...
No prob. So had a hitch mount installed flush into the skid plate, mounted to the frame. The winch sits on a plate and the connectors are quick connects.
They don’t have any specs on the cams on their website, I do know that I got the complete race heads paired with them which should make a big difference. But yes the pistons were selected for a non boost setup. I do know the pistons and rods were NOT cheap, ceramic coated Ross pistons, billet...
Were are expecting a huge difference in the overall torque and the curve as you stated. According to Livernois with the 6.6, intake, cat back, and tune you can add 150tq. So add a few more from the headers and complete 3” no cat system. Should be finalized next week.
ROUGHLY 100HP is a realistic number considering the cubic inch, race heads and cams, and headers, this is the rough quote from Livernois. Already spoke to the transmission question.
I think so too, such attention to detail. I’m having someone I know who’s a motor genius assemble and install it, then it’s going to Rocky Mountain Competitive Research for tune & dyno. And the piston compression is set at 11:5:1 since no boost, typo on original post.
So a few months ago my truck was used in an unnamed tv show (can’t say til it airs) and unfortunately the motor was destroyed. Good news is it was covered, and that’s all I can say about that for now.
I myself actually blew the original motor about a year ago. Some friends and I were in the...
Just got the truck back. Ended up costing about $700 with a few parts needing to be replaced out of warranty like pulleys and trans hoses. All fluids were also out of pocket and my deductible was $100. Total cost of the motor replacement motor installed was just shy of 8k.
I can definitely...
Now the motor is scheduled to be in tomorrow lol, I have zero parts in yet! They did say the front end of the motor comes assembled, and to add the billet gears/pump would require 4ish hours to take the timing cover off and also new seals. Not sure about it now. They did say that they have to do...
UPDATE:
Motors covered!! Rebuilt longblock coming from ford. Headers aren’t gonna happen in time. But they said they’ll add on the trans pan and billet oil pump for free. 3 year unlimited mile warranty. Run stock oil for 500 or so to break in then switch back to Ams. Should be done next week.
Yeah I’m sure I’ll get a lot more info on what’s out there as soon as we get the green light. I don’t mind a rebuilt as long as it’s done right and performs obviously.
Do you think I can bolt on the new pump before it goes in somewhat easily or is it a PITA and worth paying them a little to do...
Thanks for all the great info. I definitely beat on my truck so I think a livernois pump is the way to go. A good thing is the truck is not at a Ford dealer. It’s at the used dealer I purchased it from (I used to work there and still know everyone) so they are taking care of me. We are currently...
Well once it was on the lift. (2 days) all they had to do was drop the oil pan and see the parts soup lol. Inspector was there yesterday from the ext warr company so once he submits his report and approved (today or Tuesday) then they can order a new motor. Prob a few days on that. So this is...
