I have NEVER heard of ANYTHING like that coming from a dealer.
Maybe it's a Canadian thing? Because I've had a LOT of both direct and indirect dealings with many dealers. There's no damned way that would happen in the US.
Couple questions.
How much for the ball joints, tie rods, hubs, and IWEs? If you have that.
Also, how difficult was it to replace all that? How much time?

That's just an extension of the warranty for the APIM. That's essentially Ford speak for the computer that runs the Sync system.
