    should i do the switch

Why go through all that hassle and time just to gain 1 model year? If you work in any professional job it almost always costs you quite a bit of money when you factor in the cost of your TIME to deal with stuff like that. When you do the math, two or three thousand dollar decisions become...

GEN 1 Front + Rear Suspension Options Overview

Just finished installing the Icon RXT leaves. Took about 5 hours and that was by myself. I have the Ford Racing exhaust and the muffler was right where the front spring bolt was on the passenger side so I ended up having to cut the bolts on both sides, but the hardware kit comes with two. You’ll...

    2011 Suspension Question

Those are the Fox 3.0’s. They don’t look like they have the adjusters but they’re still a worthwhile upgrade. That seems like a solid price, but one thing to consider is that just like the factory shocks, aftermarket shocks will need to be rebuilt at anywhere between 30k and 50k miles.

Kirkland Signature Full Synthetic Oil - Great Value!

It’s not about the brand making it, it’s about the API certifications. These are objective ratings that provide quantitative data on an oil’s ability to protect and lubricate your engine. The API would not risk exposing themselves to lawsuits and legal risk by mis-certifying an oil. There are...

RST or any cage Upper Shock Mount

All of those measurements are subjective and don’t really matter as quite literally every single cage is different. If you listen to some guys they’ll tell you to install your shock mount such that at ride height the shock is at 50% travel, others will modify this, some will run the shock at a...

Basic Needs for an Off-Road Expedition for a Daytrip

I don’t think anyone buying a truck weighing well over 6,000 pounds with passengers would be concerned about an extra 20 pounds. To some it may be worth saving hundreds of dollars and there’s no reason a 4wd truck with a locker can’t get traction on a 2x6

    Bump stop issue

Might be late here, but A) some bump stop kits have adjustable height settings. You’d want them set lower for towing for example, in order to control sag. They might be set too low. B) like other users said, the bump stops still allow multiple inches of travel. They are also air bumpstops, not...

    Trophy Truck vs Bessie

That sh*t is not fun, whatsoever. I hit two donkeys at night off-roading near Lake Pleasant here in AZ after they ran out in front of my truck, and it resulted in every body panel on the front and driver’s side of the truck needing to be fixed.

GEN 1 14 Stock front springs have snapped, replace with OEM or upgrade?

I must also add that the Geiser springs are far from an end all, be all. I had the Geiser springs and blew out 2 sets of OEM shocks. Yes, the springs are definitely superior to stock, but 3.0 shocks are a far more noticeable difference. I say save the $600 and upgrade the shocks. It’ll increase...

    Just bought some Kings!

I’m in Scottsdale. Took me 6 weeks to have it made and powder coated and decided I wanted to keep my current bumper to mount a winch on. If you’re truly interested I have no problem meeting you with the bumper if distance is prohibitive.

    Just bought some Kings!

To add, the SVC front bumper is for sale. I ended up not liking it after having it made and shipped and seeing it in person. I have an extra Rigid 30” E Series that is for sale with it as well. The bumper is brand new and the light bar is a couple years old but works perfectly.

GEN 1 14 Stock front springs have snapped, replace with OEM or upgrade?

Yes. However, length of spring plays a factor, as well as perch setting, because amount of preload influences ride characteristics as well.

GEN 1 14 Stock front springs have snapped, replace with OEM or upgrade?

The Geisers are simply progressive but are also 2.5” longer than stock. Because they are progressive and the coils are spaced farther apart at the beginning of travel, they do in fact ride softer over bumps that do not lead to much compression.

    2012 Raptor w/100k miles Questions.

My 2011 has 118k miles. It’s been meticulously maintained (which is important when buying a used vehicle and should heavily influence your choice) and has not needed a thing besides a blower motor and $20 IWE check valve. No leaks, no funny noises, nothing. I’ve done oil changes every 5k...

    Frame Cut Front Recovery Points?

Never loop around the bumper...I have seen tube bumpers from name brand manufacturers bend that way. Welding on your tow hooks (That you’re cutting off anyway) is not very expensive and has a much lower chance of failure and vehicle damage than any other option. When I had my SVC Baja front...

Basic Needs for an Off-Road Expedition for a Daytrip

100% - and to build on that, it’s worth investing the time coming up with your own system of boxes and tie downs with which to store your gear, strap down a floor jack, etc. Never try to use a scissor jack. I’ve had them collapse. Also, assuming you haven’t bought them already, lumber from Home...
