There apparently aren't that many wrapped Raptors? Check out RaptorsofInsta on Instagram, he has a Leadfoot Gray truck wrapped in Xpel Stealth PPF. The stealth has a matte finish and it looks pretty killer.
You are right, the Street Series is the full system which removes the resonator. I think for this truck in particular, keeping the factory resonator is key in attenuating the drone and rasp. I couldn't be happier with this new setup, the Magnaflow muffler only kit.
Alright guys. Got my D-fit muffler installed an hour ago. First impressions:
Start-up and idle have a slightly deeper tone and marginally louder than stock.
Driving around has a great smooth linear sound almost identical to the stock sound but louder. No raspy noises at all.
Very slight...
I know i'm beating a dead horse but my question is this:
What is the best exhaust that a little louder than stock but doesn't have drone or raspy tinny noise at high revs?
I've narrowed it down to the Corsa Muffler Upgrade, Ford Performance Exhaust Sport, MBRP, Mountune.
I've had the Borla...
Let me know your thoughts once you have it installed. I had the Borla Atak on mine for a couple of days before I had to take it off from the insane rasp and high pitch noise. Looking for stock sound just slightly louder.
Take it to the dealer ASAP! They will get you squared away in no time. It's a bummer it happened on your new +70k truck but sometimes shit happens, most likely an easy fix.
Ko2's are notoriously bad on wet roads. They are great offroad and in snow they are decent. I have gone through 3 sets between my wife's car and my truck and average 24k miles before I consider them unsafe.
Be careful with Watts. Most of their trucks come from Canada with a shit ton of rust and are pretty roached. I have looked at a couple of raptors on their lot in the past and they looked like they had been parked in the sea.
The Ko2's are good in fresh snow but suck on ice. If you want uncompromising winter performance the Nokian Hakkapeliitta's are your best option. You put these tires on and in 4A you can let it rip in horrid conditions.
Is anybody out there running the Mountune MRX exhaust? I had a Borla Atak system on mine and couldn't stand how raspy it sounded so i'm back to stock. I've seen one video of the MRX and it sounds promising. If you have this system give me your feedback...
