I’m even more confused….since I posted that and read this on Stage 3 website for 10-14 Raptor & F150 Deaver Stock Height Leaf Springs-
Deletes rear block and maintains stock height
Highjacking this thread (kind of). I am confused by what I have found on line regarding the options for “stock, +1,+2, etc. I have Geisers in front and shocks on low perch. The front has the smallest rake (about 3/4”) (was level on mid perch) and I am happy with the look. Some videos and...
No, I plastic welded the cap back together where it split (and heated nails to push through the two pieces as reinforcements). I don’t tighten it so far as to attempt “airtight”, guessing that has something to do with it. .
Thanks @wjoutlaw I don’t think I would have ever gotten a letter and as a 2014 owner, was not eligible for the first recall. I do have a separate question for the group. I have been strongly thinking of doing the TOD transfer case swap. Is the “update” for the downshift actually on the PCM or...
99% sure that is the injectors. I would say though that my truck only really does this on start up and once the engine is warm, you can barely hear it. I second the use of the fuel injector cleaner.
So I am not sure if I am just noticing this more and it’s always been there or this is a new issue, but I have a high frequency “vibration” in my steering wheel when I turn the wheel. Specifically around 25-75 mph. The “turn” is literally just enough to get off center. I don’t get his...
So looking to pull the trigger on this and looking at used TC. Anyone have either a good source or recommendations of things to look for (if I can find one local) best I have been able to find for used on eBay is around 150k miles (I only have 75k on my truck) and hate the idea of putting a...
That is very interesting. Part of my motivation to do this was associated with my plan to supercharge the truck and not have to get traction bars (still planning on Deavers).
As said before, check all the classic things first. I would assume unless you have another Raptor to compare, the assessment of the shocks are a little tough (as mine went, it just started riding/driving like a regular F150). Run the vents through all the possible configurations to see if the...
@The Car Stereo Company , my bad. I have been reading dozens of stereo posts and missed this was for the SCAB. I have a SCREW. I made a box to mimic the Kicker 46HS10 (self powered) and it fit snugly with the cab backing still there so the “leap” of another 1 inch in depth with the material...
Stepping into the “academics” of how the TOD works, curious what triggers the clutches engagement and its “percentage”. It would seem to me that TC would be the primary trigger for engagement, but “100%” clutch engagement would make me think you would at least get some feeing of the binding on...
Update to this thread. I got my original shocks rebuilt by Forged a few months back. One of the fronts rebuilt by TSW was leaking within 5,000 (easy miles). They asked for a picture and never responded to multiple emails after I sent it. Forge suggested that the TSW may have been overfilled...
That is the sub, not self powered, I’d have to bolt a separate amp beside it, behind the 2/3 seat.
I guess my question is also, how well will a “downward facing” sub sound aimed at the metal panel of the back of the cab? I assumed I’d need the dynamat to keep it from reverberating and sounding...
@The Car Stereo Company Ok, reviving this thread. I still have hopes of more underseat space with the “relocation” of the factory sub but I think this is the last option before I try something like @JefeAZ did. Any thoughts on if this...
I was wondering something similar in the sense, will the TOD kick in while making that turn, engage the front axle and immediately begin binding ? I don’t see an issue in a straight line but could beat the crap out of the front end if you left it in TOD mode a lot (could engage it just by...
I would take a long weekend and disassemble the front end. Most shops end up having the insurance adjuster come back out after they have pulled the damaged parts off to redo the estimate for the things they couldn’t see initially. This would also allow you to really assess what could be reused...
I would spend the $300-$350 for a PPI. I’ve bought cars sight unseen, and paid for things that couldn’t be shown with pictures and a video test drive. I paid $40k for my 2014 Supercrew almost 4 years ago, original owner, with 40k miles. I would say as long as there is no real rust, that is a...
I am looking to swap all of my lights in one shot and was wondering who and maybe when is the best time/supplier to maybe get a deal/discount. I was looking for the Morimoto XB, all the Raptor specific markers in LED, rear tail lights swapped to LED, back up light on the license plate, puddle...
Does anyone know what the “shop manual” calls for time to pull the engine? Trying to figure out if it’s more or less work (and less pain) than doing each separately.
So I’m a little confused, the thousands of SC Roush and Whipple charged Gen 1s all have strengthened internals…..or they all have blown up and are rebuilds….or are all time bombs and the dozens I’ve seen listed here with 122k-170k miles all are a rarity ? Like I said, the 700hp seems obviously...
