It’s been a pain to own this truck. Between this issue and getting the paint fixed, I spent 12 days going to the dealer.
I tend to forget the pain when I go into sport mode and mash on the accelerator. Still, I could use less time at the dealer or in a dealer provided rental.
So the dealer I went to (different from original), managed to replicate the issue by wiggling the solenoid damper on the rear right shock. The tech said it was out of spec and that part would need to be ordered. Back to waiting.

Happened again 2 days ago. Since my last post it happened 4 times.
The Drive Control Module ordered by my dealer back in March finally arrived. I’ll post an update once it’s replaced.
Yep that’s my truck haha. I was surprised how solid those brackets were. They looked like they were made of thicker metal than the truck’s bumper. Once bolted on the lights stayed in place and didn’t budge one bit. I recommend them.
Yeah I held my temper in check since I need them to fix. If it goes nowhere tomorrow then I won’t be as patient. Third time is the charm. Or not. Worst case I’ll take it to my shop and file a claim against them in small claims court.
Yeah I bought mine when it was night time so it’s hard to see. Tomorrow is my third trip back for this issue. If they can’t fix it I’ll take it to my own shop. Ford rep told me they won’t cover all the costs if I take this route.

Oh and according to the body shop, the extra layer of paint in my fender was caused as a result of Ford not removing the paint sealant completely and then painting over it.

I am leaning towards trying my intune tool to see if I can disable it permanently to see if I get any more issues. If I don’t get any more issues I think we know the culprit.
Before I go that route, I’ll drive it without touching the AS/S button in normal and sports mode and see what happens.
It could be that I am going senile lol. Tomorrow I am going to do a lot of testing between modes and take pictures of the dash and button. Then record everything on a log. Will make it much easier to retrieve info. Yep. This is day 3 of owning this truck.

I used the mode button on the steering wheel and cycled it to sports mode. The icon on the dash confirmed it. Shifting pattern and throttle response changed drastically. Kind of wish this was the standard mode.

Start stop in a sports truck makes as much sense as baptizing a cat. The last car I owned that had this feature was a hybrid commuter car - which made sense. But not in a Raptor.

Yup tried that. Engine shut off. I just disabled it from the advanced settings menu and will try again. Next thing I’ll try is turning off adaptive cruise control.
