I was able to replicate my odd noise with no trailer. I put the transmission in manual and shifted to 6th at about 50mph. Then WOT. Sure sounds like it’s more on the driver side. Slight throttle, no sound. As the trucks pulls as rpm’s start to come up, there is the noise. Notice the sound stop/...

I went a different route.
12v, 500 amp relay to put inline on the alternator power cable. The relay will be on when the ignition switch is on. That should limp me along until I find someone willing to pull a SC to change an alternator.
I know it would be a Band-Aid, but has anyone ever installed something like this? Remote battery disconnect.
Alternator charges fine, just drawing power when not running. Thoughts?

I felt the SC Coolant lines, squeezed on them and I do not believe there is any flow in the off/sleep position.
I went out and did some more testing a bit ago.
With my alternator power cable hooked up, I am drawing 3.13 amps.
With my alternator power cable not hooked up, I am drawing 0.38...
I've not been able to get back to trouble shooting. I believe the next thing that I will try is disconnecting the alternator power cable to see if that is drawing any power.
Good grief, if that thing is bad. The alternator that I picked up was $340 + the install. I wish I had known that the...
Fuse for the trailer brakes was good and no change in amp draw when removed.
Alternator is charging.
I’ll disconnect alternator tonight, try door latch and hood pin tricks and stay after it.
This morning when driving to work after charging at 2amp for 6 hrs, voltage on Sct is as reading...
@FordTechOne @Jakenbake
I figured out the amp draw with the multimeter. How many amps will the circuit pull until the modules go to sleep?
The fuse box under the hood, that's not bad. Have the multimeter there by me and pull fuses and watch for any decrease in amp draw. Under the hood, I...
I changed my meter to 10 amp draw and it's pulling 3.45 amps currently. I'll wait another 30 mins and see what it bottoms out at. Then start pulling fuses.
My raptor was dead dead when I came out to leave from work. I jumped it and it started fine. When I looked at the display on the sct programmer, it showed the voltage to be right around 12.2 volts. When the fans kicked off, voltage went up to 13.5 to 13.8 volts. So I took it in to O'Reilly's...
I can look at amperage or voltage and should be able to use either value. Hopefully @FordTechOne will chime in. I suspect I'll start with checking that fuse that I replaced for the trailer brakes.
Good point about pulling fuses to see which circuit is drawing power. With the key out of the ignition, should there be any power drain?
Let's say I remove the leads from the battery and let's say i get 12.00 volts. With the leads installed on a truck where there is no power draw going on...
I've got something drawing power on my 2014 Raptor. About 10 days ago, battery was dead. Alternator is charging good. I thought maybe it was just the battery.... Battery was 6 months old, and I swapped it for a new on on Saturday.
No issues since then. This morning though, battery was...
I have had a whipple installed for about 2500 miles now. Currently sitting at 82,500 miles on the truck.
2014 6.2L
All has been good for the most part. A couple of tune issues that I've been back and forth with JDM on, but thinking we have it resolved.
I have a challenger hellcat that I drag...
I called JDM and spoke to them for a bit. I believe that the gentleman's name was Pat. Pat spoke with his boss and they both believe that I have some kind of a vacuum leak. According to his boss, this is usually seen from when the SC was installed, the black O-ring gasket rolled out of place...
Sorry for the delay in reply. It was a very busy week for me. I did go with the bigger throttle body when I purchased my kit from JDM. The polished throttle body with the ford racing inscribed on it. Also went with the 78LB injectors. I have a semi-local tuner that tunes my hellcat when I...
Hello all. My raptor has been in the shop for a while getting some mods installed. I went with the 700hp Whipple stage 2 kit from JDM. Also did RPG traction bars, SW cat back exhaust and axle exchange DS.
I changed to the 3.25" pulley as compared to the 3.50" pulley that came on the whipple...
Thanks for the input. Got a lot of input and then some.
I ordered the whipple 2.9L 700 hp kit from JDM
Ordered the after market drive shaft from Axle Exchange
Ordered the RPG Traction bars
Ordered the SW exhaust with S-Tube muffler
Can you guys think of anything else right now?
I thought...
Thanks for the input guys. My brother wanted to supercharge his truck so I’ll bow out on a turbo setup and stick with the Whipple SC.
My goal is fast, real damn fast. Mostly paved roads. Very little off-roading.
I could pickup the JDM 700hp Whipple kit from JDM Engineering.
What else...
How much boost are you guys running with the Whipple? Is the whipple capable of 800 rwhp? Assuming the long block is beefed up? What other mods would be needed to get to the level of 800 rwhp?
Thanks for the input.
I am about to acquire a 2014 6.2L Raptor. Stock for the most part. This was my brother's truck and he passed away VERY unexpectedly. One thing that he always wanted to do, was either put a Turbo kit on it or go Super Charged.
I looked into the Hellion twin turbo kit - Their production is on...
