I wish the Waze app would work for me just so I could report speed traps. Thankfully, google added this feature to google maps, but you can only do it while en route, which is unfortunate because I take great pleasure in ruining the scam revenue scheme.
I rarely - if ever - speed on purpose. In...
The fender flares will see lots of punishment unless you tape them up before hitting the trails/track. If you plan to continue offroading, you'd be best served with Line Xing them. Should about $600 total. Still need to get TMX to do mine, just haven't had the spare cash and I tape up my truck...
My 2017 does as well, and someone else with a 17 has a video on youtube showing it.
The manual for the 2017-18 says it only primes the brakes, but at least a few of us have trucks that will auto brake without the ACC on.
M+S is a good suggestion.
Thanks!
It is pretty helpful. I prefer to swing the truck around by coming in hot, but even then LFB helps, and it instances where you start the corner slow, it really does help the process along.
Team O'Neil has more than a few good videos on the subject, a few...
4A will be a bit reactionary, but is the safer option if you think you'll be hitting hard pack. Typically if I'm flying down unmaintained roads with a mix of surfaces, I'll do sport mode 4A. If you know none of it is hard pack (ie dirt, gravel only, no concrete) you'd probably be a bit better...
Yeah, no. I've ridden in suped up Gen 1s. Even supercharged, they are slower than my stock Gen 2. Sure if you are running a really beefy suspension you'll make up time in the rough stuff, but same thing applies to the Gen 2.
The 3.5 HO is the right engine for our trucks. It is great for daily...
You'll hear that more aggressive tires will throw bigger rocks, which I've had happen a couple of times, but in general mine have thrown a lot less rocks into my wells and fenders compared to the stockers. Used to sound like a constant stream of hail going down a gravel road, now you hear one...
Very interested to see how you like them. I have now run my ST Maxxes in all conditions, and can say they are better in every way over the K02s except being a tiny bit louder. I even get better gas mileage aired down to 28 cold then I did with the K02s aired up at 36. Don't ask me how that works.
Anyone have them? I believe (but am not certain) it is Ebony Black (SEM 4559), not Charcoal (5831). Can anyone confirm this?
I'd also be curious as to what the metallic grey that goes around the vents is.
I've been using Forever Black Trim Restorer to cover up the horrible white scuffs our...
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll run a lot lower next time. Actually, I'm running 27 cold on street right now and getting better mileage with my hybrid tire than I did with the KO2s over inflated.
FWIW, I did notice two other supercabs doing the same thing a few months back, so I'm...
Old thread, I know, but since there is quite a bit of misinfo on here I figured I'd set the record straight. You should always use the door placard value as a starting point. Your tire has a max pressure (which corresponds to its load rating), but the placard pressure is for your vehicle...
29/25 last time. But the supercrews were running 28....
I agree I need to go lower, but do you think it will make that much difference?
I slide a lot...don't want to risk debeading. That said, I pretty much ran 7 miles on a flat without debeading it, so maybe I should aim for 23 cold next time...
I'm trying to figure out if I need to just go a lot lower with my tire pressure or if my shocks are defective. I have really bad 'pogo' effect - my nose is constantly lifting my front tires off the ground again after an impact. I've noticed that supercrews hitting the same obstacles at the same...
It is in the same spot every time....either bad design or manufacturing flaw...or both. Super common it seems.
Doesn't matter how much you baby it - when I saw this happening two years ago, I started being especially careful, yet here I am. Sorry yall are in the same boat.
My understanding is he will do whatever you want him to. Just gotta request it/send a picture. Myself and several others mentioned the ordering system isn't very good, but I doubt he'll change it.
Does this apply to 17-18s? I can get the info via OBD but I wasn't aware of it on the dash...and I thought I combed through the menu pretty well.
What, in your opinion, is the most likely culprit leading to these failures? I was under the impression lack of oil flow to the phasers was causing...
Yeah...no. I have a friend who has a supercharged Gen 1, we ride in each other's trucks every track day. My truck outruns his on and off the track, and he has mentioned such on several occasions. The seats are neither more or less comfortable, of course this is a subjective thing anyway.
Surely...
Based on what? A few posts online? I have two friends with over 130k on their Gen 2s, no issue. I'm nearly 30k, flog mine hard, and also have no issues.
Any vehicle produced en mass - included your beloved Gen 1 - will have some lemons. In fact, over the years the overall failure rates are...
To be fair, I've read the manual through multiple times now (twice before I got the truck) and I never saw that you could do that. In fact, I understood that you couldn't.
But seriously, as much as I tell others to RTFM, I at least post the relevant portion to answer the question. To that end:
I've heard reports of this, and suspected it myself, but to see you say that makes me really think the computer might be doing some 'posi-trac' shenanigans even in 2H.
So, if this is true, does the computer cut power, apply brakes, or both?
