Pretty sure Rock auto does not currently have Gen2 OEM Fox 3" internal bypass shocks for sale. They do have gen1 2.5" internal bypasses for sale. While they are different, they are also very similar. However with the added diameter shock they tend to last allot longer when used on road...
Hello everyone!
So I'm planning to do a trans service. Already have a new filter, also have purchased a 2nd filter that will add over a quart of additional capacity to my system(possibly closer to two quarts).
My question is, I eventually want to completely switch to Amsoil.
However, can i...
Appreciate the input bud. I didn't get longer drop shackles like 90% of the guys here have, with their deavers or icons. I got shorter Lift shackles. Im very positive they will be lifting the truck. Likely not the 2" they claim, but at least half of that. The regular F150 guys use them all the...
I'd be nervous to run those for how much pavement driving I do. If my girl was a weekend toy then sure I'd be all for it. But even with ONE SIDE engaged because of a bad IWE line, I went from around 12mpg down to around 8mpg avg. That's how I knew SOMETHING was seriously wrong. All that...
I've searched the forums and the Internet and I haven't found anyone that has tried the setup I'll soon be attempting on a Gen1 raptor.
The plan is to add a 2.5inch lift Add-A-Leaf to my leaf spring packs, along with re-arking(cold arking) the remaining stock leafs in the pack. Painting them...
Yea it's CRAZY how brittle the old OEM lines got over time. Same thing on my 2011 Expedition. Grab a section and squeeze the damn lines crumble to dust! Lol
My wife won't let me buy anymore stuff for the truck until I sell another set of shocks. Emptied our bank account right before Christmas on a stockpile of Roush takeoff Gen2 non-livewire shocks. Needless to say she was not happy. At this point she agrees it was worth the time, effort, and money...
I'm ordering this kit next week.
I haven't found any members with a personal experience with AAL besides someone adding a custom leaf a long time ago.
You 100% WOULD need to remove each leaf spring pack to add a leaf to them tho.
It's only a couple bolts, nothing to fear
Anyone here installed the AAL yet? Purchasing a kit myself. Like everyone stated most say fits all models besides raptor, however Im pretty sure leaf packs are the same as other models.
Grabbing this kit next week regardless tho.
When I was trying to blur my licence plate I'm pretty sure I blurred the background first. Didn't really notice the difference myself. Does look cool tho.
Guess I'll find out!
I reused the plastic wire managers over the stock lines to protect it from the heat a little.
It's actually much thicker and stronger than the actual vacuum lines I found locally, which is why I went this route. IWE system funs off very little vacuum too which I'm sure...
Hey everyone!
Since I had a little more clearance with the Gen2 spring/shock combo, I picked up some like new 37x13.5 nitto ridge grapplers. Was nervous to do so but the deal was too good to pass up. Absolutely love them. Loss of torque is barely noticable. Bigger tires fill the wheel wells much...
So at full droop, front wheel hanging in the air, with Gen2 shock AND Spring, my upper control arm ALMOST touched the spring. And I mean 1 or 2mms away. I've gotten the front end off the ground and they don't BANG together or anything, but they are extremely close, much closer than if you were...
Bare minimum you need to swap top hats and shims from your gen1 shock/spring assembly. This would bring you closer to top perch, but in my opinion the ride is much better than swapping the gen1 spring, which would bring you a little lower. However, both options work completely fine. Only other...
I couldn't agree more. By not replacing coil buckets WE DO LOOSE ROUGHLY 1.5 INCHES OF UP TRAVEL/ARTICULATION(due to shock size). However, Its not something the normal person would EVER notice. Out trucks have ALLOT of articulation compared to other vehicles. If you go gen2shock/gen1spring combo...
Hello everyone!
Have a few sets of Gen2 non-live wire shocks for sale. All were Roush take offs with almost no miles. All look like new OEM replacement parts. Some have very minor scratches near lower control arm mount due to their removal. I ran my first set for just over 50k with stock gen1...
I had the notorious rattle on accel as well. Just replaced both iwes(along with front struts and shocks), and ran new tubing for the vacuum lines. Sound is completely gone. While replacing iwes I found my passenger side vacuum line was broken, and the lines were brittle as hell. I got 1/4 inch...
So after snapping my drivers side Gen1 spring on a Gen2 shock, I threw on my backup Gen2 shocks with the gen2 spring on it. Obviously swapped top hats and re-used shims. She is definitely sitting much higher now. Ride is absolutely great as well.
