So the only Raptor I've owned was a 2012, what happens in the live valve versions when the "live" part fails? Does it still perform like a regular shock? Or is it a "holy crap, something is broken" feeling?
I'm going to add on for what should help somebody out in the future. As Pinky said, these CSI surveys are like gold to the dealer and it only takes one bad one to jack up your whole month. Here's how you play this (sorry, a little late for the OP)
You have a crap experience and you can either...
So I came across a picture recently of a white gen 1 like mine that had the factory hood and bedside graphics in all black but it had some orange accessories and decided I liked the combo. After looking at the cost of some of these hood and bedside decals, I ordered a roll of 1/4" orange vinyl...
I think it's neat on some, especially the red, but I like the contrast on my Oxford white. Depends on the car/truck sometimes. I had all black E36 M3s because I didn't like the look of the black body molding on other colors, opposite on the ol' IROC-Z where the black fake hood vents and t-tops...
I am far from an expert, but I'm going with "stuff that happens when you have 4wd engaged on pavement and shouldn't." Used to get all manner of destruction when I worked at a stealership years ago and people would leave 4WD engaged on pavement.
Not to worry, it's an old mechanics trick to "prove" that they actually worked on your vehicle. Check for some oily smears on your upholstery and hand/finger-prints on your hood, right dead center on the front so you can't miss it; more dead giveaways. Seriously though, curious to see the...
Searching I'm finding a ton of posts on badlands the place but only some classified sales on Badlands winches. I'm pretty much sold on Rough Country 12,000 lb winch and mount but just saw a Badlands 12,000 lb one for a hundred dollars less with one of the Harbor Freight coupons? Any thoughts...
I really loved the original Raptor R and then the molten orange production version and was thinking I'd pay homage to those with some rappy graphics. Not quite as I envisioned it in my head though. I do really like the subdued flag on the tailgate "Ford" though.
I had 86,000 miles when I bought it so I didn't know how it was supposed to feel. It was like night and day! Best analogy I could make is it was as pronounced as the difference between going from a live rear axle to an independent rear suspension
You are the second person I've seen that says they didn't like the Borla Touring setup after installing headers. I assume that it changes enough to mess up what Borla had set the exhaust up to do originally. Man I'd love to have the $$ to try a bunch of different combinations and hear them in...
I had a couple E36 and also two different E46 M3s and like the first and second gen Raptors, there's stuff I like about both. My second E36 had some engine work, cams, injectors, tune, intake, throttle body and a Borla exhaust and was one of the most enjoyable cars to listen to that I've...
Very nice. Welcome. And yes, the added power does make the lack of a V8 exhaust note much more tolerable I'm sure; couple that with what, 700 lbs less than a Gen 1? Simple way to add horsepower is to subtract weight!
I like that. It's bugged me for a while how inside the rear fenderwells looks so unfinished. i was thinking of hitting it with a can of the spray in "bedliner" cheapo version just to get it dark
