I don't like for this to come across as confrontational, but yes, automated fire suppression systems using CO2 for confined spaces, just like halon, have posted signs, audible and visual warnings to clear the space.
A CO2 flooded space will kill you just as dead as a halon flooded space.
Well, yes, halon will fill your lungs if there is nothing else, but you can exhale it to clear your lungs.
CO2 will have the same effect if there is nothing else; even so it is two parts oxygen, but our bodies can't separate them form the one carbon.

Both, CO2 or Halon work the same: displacing oxygen, you just need more CO2 to have the same effect as Halon.
But CO2 can also cool a six-pack of beer very quickly :)

I have a zip tie attached to one of my Halon bottles; should there be a fire in the cap I pull the pin and hold back the trigger with the zip tie and get out.
I also have two dry chemical extinguishers in the bed of the truck.
You are correct: Don't use Halon in a enclosed space and remain in it!
You set it off and get the hell out of there! Close the door behind you to trap the Halon in the cap.
Don't use Dry chemicals inside it will F up everything electrical.
Using Halon in the open is useless; yes it will snuff...
