I really like where you are going with this- Just a thought- when you are in final design/ testing add an option for a cooler rack . or even a portable winch mount?
Looks good- I did not like taking the factory tow hooks off- when i added my tow bar set up. I will say at the time- I was impressed how much stronger the bracket was then the factory tow hooks- but your set up looks really nice and will load both hood at the same time.
I would have bought...
My concern would be book value- if totaled or stolen the insurance company is only paying for an 18. retail will also hurt- but not much if you keep it 5 or so year. Call you insurance company ask what they would pay- or get gap insurance. if you finance.
I do like my 18 seats better. So i...
I got a kit that just plugs in to the rear harness. Just zip tied along the drivers side frame rail. I think I got mine from Demco along with their Delta force break system.
Keep in mind when running wires- you will need power from the rv to the raptor to keep things charged. ( I forgot...
I drop mine to 20 psi when running on the beach in NJ. Keep in mind not all sand is the same- and it will change some depending on moisture. I have seem many states (like FL)where people drive 2 wd cars and RV's on the beach- that would not happen in NJ-
100% there will be a 2021 Raptor- but the question is will it be a gen 3? I'm thinking there will be some screaming deals when we are all allowed out again.
Sorry about your Raptor.
Its the DOT rating- and most PD would not care- But here in NJ we had a forest ranger who hated dirt bikes- and would write tickets to other wise league duel sport bikes if they had off road tires. He would see you at a gas station or dinner and pull in and write a ticket.
I drop to 15 for...
So last year I bought GAIA gps app for my Iphone- good maps for mountain biking, hiking, hunting- I thought it would be cool it it worked with apple car play but it did not.
Fast forward a year later, They have an apple car play app- that allows it to display the maps on the dash!
I have only...
sorry for your problems- But you are really stuck with what Ford offers to do. Try not to let it get the best of you. Sadly no one at Ford corporate really cares- but it sounds like you got a good dealer to help you through the bull.
My advice is to be nice but firm- and do not threaten law...
I have many miles towing ( not with my raptor) with and without a weight distribution hitch. I really like the Reese with sway control. Made for a much more relaxing tow. I assume a trailer that large would gave 4 wheels and breaks. The new f150s have some very cool electronics for breaks and...
you will be 100 % maxed out-
payload of raptor- 1200 lbs- ( with 150 lb driver only)
so 800x 10% weight on truck= 400lbs left on truck ( should be 10-15%)
good weight distribution hitch- 150 lbs= 250 payload left
empty truck-6800 lbs + trailer 8000= 14,800, max combined weight rating...
Good luck- looks great.
1st scratch on these really sucks- I keep telling myself- Its a truck scratches mean i use it, but when cleaned up they look soo good. Enjoy
I have 9000 miles on mine and the squeaking is getting nuts- I starting to feel like I'm driving a 40+ year old beater truck. I'm thinking its the shackle bushings , but they do not have a grease fitting, So I guess its time to pull them a parts.
So have you run a 1/4 with it? I keep thinking about adding a tune- would be really cool if you did a run in stock mode and with the tune in to see the difference.
Raptors and camping they go together!
Maybe for that small gas tank add one or two of these- https://rotopax.com/fuelpax-3-5.html
My give you piece of mind.
I have one in my truck- but since I have the bigger gas tank- My rotopax is for water.
sorry for your problems- glad they are not giving you problems- because of your minor mods.
I now have 8,000 miles on mine- really love the truck- I want to do a tune but stories like this hold me back.
