They also do not run full-time, so will not be lit during the day as a TRX identifier unless the driver manually turns running lights on (Gen 1 was like this also, not sure about G2).
Tough to really make anything out.
I think Ford could have done a much better job integrating the 12" screen. The whole center area is very blocky and bulbous.. no flow at all. Reminds me of the older Chevy interiors.
The graphics aren't terrible, just not really my thing. Still don't get the...
I imagine the R will also have a functional hood scoop for increased airflow.
It sounds to me like some/many of the commenters on FRF have not seen a TRX in person, or have only seen it briefly in passing. It is a difficult truck to appreciate in photos.
I actually enjoy the semi-anonymity of...
Agree on TRX/Rebel comment. In fact, at a glance, the ONLY thing that really sets them apart is the flares.
RAM did not alter the front fascia or tailgate enough in my opinion to properly distinguish between them. There are subtle differences, but really only once you know what to look for.
My...
I'm trying to see what you're seeing. Pics for comparison:
I guess the Gen 1 is a bit more protruding, and more rounded, than the Gen 2. Gen 3 looks about the same as Gen 2.
TRX for comparison. Nice big butt, but more of a "plateau" look than the Gen 1's protruding arc.
Sounds about right. Wouldn't surprise me if Ford took a bunch of 21 orders knowing they couldn't deliver, because of how easy it will be to just "bump" to a 22.
Essentially, all 21 + 22 Gen 3s are part of one "extended model year".
Given how late the 21s were announced, I suspect this was the...
Because your original post stated that you assumed anyone who cares about HP and V8 is a mall crawler.
That is dumb and wrong.
Your words:
"Most ppl in this thread only seem to be considered with HP and a V8 so I can only assume your trucks are mall crawlers"
Again, why can't I maximize what I drive in all respects?
By your logic, I should buy the absolute minimum capability needed for my requirements.
That ain't how I live brah. Tomorrow isn't guaranteed.
I imagine Ford has a different standard of what constitutes a "durability issue" when they are considering things from a warranty perspective.
You are probably correct that the vast majority of tuned/upgraded Gen 1/2 had no issues, but that may not work for Ford's engineering and warranty models.
Well, right, that's my point - those vehicles are in production now, and the R is not.
There is less and less appetite for the gas-guzzlers at Ford and a gradual decline in those types of vehicles. There is only so much room, and eventually, ideas like the R will no longer be entertained.
Yeah, they're comparing that to the base TRX, which accounts for only like 5% of units sold.
Seems unlikely the R would be offered in any configuration less than fully loaded.
The R runs counter to Ford's prioritization of eco-friendly vehicles. I don't think they want to sell many, and it...
Pretty amateurish, Ford. Code names are supposed to have nothing to do at all with the source material.
It should be "Project Fluffy Pancakes" or something.
