That’s illegal in my state. But a ceramic clear will cut the heat just as well. And 50% tint is for sure not the same visibility at all, it is literally 50% of light transmission.
How high are the miles? If you’re only keeping it this year you should be completely clear of depreciation and only out the cost of maintenance. In fact the new tires will probably make you more back than they cost lol.
I got some cheap ones off of eBay for my old grand Cherokee and liked them just fine but wouldn’t want them on my Raptor. Definitely took time getting used to the increased blind spot.
Do you guys have your windows closed? I can’t hear anything with mine closed but I hear all kinds of turbo and bov noises with them open. I have stock intercooler and bov but Cobb intake.
An IR thermometer is like $12 too. I used mine to set my pressure on my outback with AT tires by checking center and shoulder temps after a highway drive. And to check my fish tank temperatures. And lots of things.
I’m not sure I’d worry too much about tire heat if the street speeds are 35mph max. But I often don’t know what I’m talking about and I’m no off-roader for sure.
A 10% weight increase on each tire is gonna be noticeable. In acceleration, steering response and ride. Who knows how much or if that matters to you but it will be less responsive in all areas.
They’re making plenty. They just have to park them until the parts they can’t get start coming in. Microprocessors (automotive type) are tough to get right now. They’re building trucks without certain modules and parking them until that stuff starts flowing again. Can’t sell them until supply...
I think they’re about 5-10k more now than last summer. For a 1yr old truck you’ll probably end up paying MSRP. For a 2 yr old one maybe a little less. Buy a mountain bike and wait 6 months. The market will calm down by the end of the year.
I’m pretty easy on it and use 4A in rain or snow as well. I bought the truck with 23k on it and am at 29k now. I’ll give my dealer a call. Discount tire direct has them for $1200/set. Tire rack doesn’t have the C range right now.
The place I use has a Goodyear sign out front but they’re far from a goofball tire shop like NTB or something. They’re a local chain, something like 6-8 shops in the area using a family name. I’ve had them do all kinds of maintenance and repairs and they do really good work every time.
Yeah that’s kinda where I am. I only drive it 4k miles a year so probably a bit of time. Where do you guys get your KO2’s? I like them enough so I’m gonna stick with the same tire. Just TireRack/DiscountTireDirect and a local installer? I’ve got a good shop I use for nearly all general...
What depth do you guys run the stock KO2’s down to? This is my first truck but I usually take my cars to 3-4/32 depth and get new ones. On my last oil change they noted that my tires are getting worn but they’re not that far down. Do you replace them at 5-6/32 on a truck or something? They are...
As a teenager my brother, my dad and I drove across the country in a ‘78 chevy van w/o AC. The windows down in AZ on a 117 degree day was unreal. Face in an oven. We bought 1-qt sized Icees at a gas station and they were 3/4 melted by the time we pulled out of the parking lot. Ever since then...
