My 2014 didn't have a battery drain and the steps never got stuck down or up through 3 Maine winters. If you don't want them plugged into the OBD2 port don't get the plug and play harness.

Most aren't but I ran Trail Grapplers on my 2011 and 2014 F150s and they were good in snow. Prior to that I ran Terra Grapplers on my 06 F150 and they were horrible in snow.
