I've been tempted to move on from mine simply due to the market as well. But what would I replace it with...? Not too much has me interested right now. Coming from a Ram, I really like those newer interiors but their customer service leaves a bit to be desired in my experience. I'd be interested...
With all of the hype for the gen 3, I got interested and dug up the Gen 2 release videos to compare how the release and marketing has changed over time.
2017 Video, actually part of a 6 video series from Ford explaining all the new bits. All videos below...
Tasca has the BLIS tail light for $708. Probably your best bet for an OEM part. This was with the filter on for my '19 but it should not be any different for a '20...
Any time you raise the suspension without changing to a shock with a longer stroke, you loose droop. Basically you are pre-drooping the suspension whether it's raising the front or the back. Think of it as if you had your truck on a frame lift. As you raise the truck frame, the suspension...
Got it, the supercab owners are the next evolution of the Gen 1 homers who believe their's is the best truck ever made.
Let's get back to the Raptor R here....
Could you elaborate more on what about the QC is garbage specifically? I am guessing from your post that you feel the spring rates are either different from side to side or that the leaf options with adding leaves isn't equaling out to the right spring rate?
Here is avalanche grey. It was only available on the '17's and also looks amazing in the sun (to me that is).
Here is the color on Ford's race / test truck in this video
This guy posted an updated video today. Transmission had a line pop off (my guess is the line to/from the cooler) and he lost his fluid. Ram had a rep there to diagnose and document, they are getting him a new transmission, and gave him a limited 1500 as a loaner.
Looks like he just posted a follow-up video.
Synopsis, sounds like he popped a transmission cooler line and dumped his transmission fluid. He only described it as "popped a transmission line". Ram sent a rep to the dealer the next morning to document it and they are getting him a new...
If you are able to get a look at it in person, you could be the crazy guy like me on the lot. I brought a creeper to roll under every truck I looked at (if flying, some cardboard to lay on would be just fine), a change of clothes, a set of gloves or latex gloves to toss in the trash afterwards...
Inquire with the dealer and see if they know the story. Could be as easy as the guy slid in the snow (being it is Ohio), bumped something, and didn't file under insurance if nothing was affected. Good luck in your search.
Nationwide, autotrader has 6 orange raptors under $33k.
Two best candidates for supercabs appear to be in Ohio and VA. Both are no accidents but the 6.2L truck is only one owner. The 5.4L is 4 owners.
Ohio - 2010 with 85k miles and 6.2L for $28.3k @ a Ford Dealership
VA - 2010 with 88k miles...
That came out quite nice with the wrap removed. It looks like the artificial rust bits either aren't clear in the second picture or you had them removed / painted. Good looking truck either way and hope you enjoy it.
I was thinking of this as well. I am curious what the default position is for the actuator which changes the tone. I am also curious pending part numbers if a few bits can be swapped directly like the down pipes and muffler.
I believe this new rear end is extremely overlooked. The biggest news would have been a V8 in the initial release. Now that the subject of a V8 is done, the new rear suspension will be the biggest talking point of reviewers outside of the interior refresh.
I believe Ford went a smart route here...
Absolutely the gen 3 will be over $80k loaded. Loaded 802a’s were $76k or higher on gen 2’s and new models never go backward in price. You’re also now paying for larger tires in the 37 package (5 of them) and the upgraded materials for the interior will add to the base cost anyways.
