I used mostly OEM bolts (pure crap), and 4 @ Grade 3 (?) bolts from Home Depot, with washers. I did find that the paint on the Ford Peformance cover needed to be chipped back at each of the connection points as the paint kept the washers (and I'm guessing the bolts) from properly, and squarely...
I couldn't do 20-25 Ft/lbs - the bolts were obviously preparing to strip at my setting of 20 ft/lbs.
I did use blue locktite, and after 3 weeks there is no seeping or oil obvious on the bottom of the pumpkin - but time will only tell.
I did leave my spare tire off after the diff service - it did...
Forget it, just figured out that Large Flatrate box is $25 and change - you could get this Amazon for a few dollars more. I'll take it to the "jerk Pirates" at Pismo Beach.
Never used, won't fit my application, too late for Amazon return.
Direct message me your interest and we can paypal the shipping - likely a USPS large flat rate box.
Cost $28 from Amazon

Just changed my Rear Diff oil with synthetic Valvoline squeeze bottles - was still a bit of a mess - but done. I noticed that the spare tire had been rubbing against my Ford Performance diff cover - perhaps explaining why the cover bolts keep loosening? Any way, one bolt was missing all...
Just got it back, they're going to mail the repair order to me, I can get the part numbers installed then. New (to me) Service Advisor did a great job and reprogrammed my Transmission as well.
No early morning sounds when starting up, no lerches with the tranny - seems all good until next time.
You probably can't get a refund, but drive as fast (in a straight line if possible) to a Alignment shop that has mechanics better than your typical High School Dropout.
I've NEVER trusted a Firestone shop, not even with my lawnmower.
So, was the catch-can installed when it was CPO Gold certified?
If it was - you're golden. If not then I'd ask someone who has a catch-can and had warranty work performed.
I don't have a catch-can installed.
No, my advisor didn't mention a TSB, but there may very well be one.
Not sure how many miles the Emissions warranty is but it strikes me that it should be covered for the life of the vehicle. California is a haven for Emissions standards.
