I think most dealers don’t love doing warranty work unfortunately. I’ve tried to buy a Raptor 3 times from RSM and didn’t work out any of those times for the same reasons. They’re not as bad as others, but don’t really deal either.
The aftermarket cats absolutely do not pass visual and will not pass smog. With that said, honestly most shops will look under the hood and do an OBD scan and call it a day. So as long as you swap your stock intake back on and don’t have a huge fmic, they likely won’t take the time to look...
Last I heard through the grapevine Fox and Icon are both working on things, with early 2024 as a rough time estimate. No idea if that’s still accurate or not.
Personally I think the different shock tuning is primarily because the bump zones need to be different due to 1” less travel on the 37pp. The thicker front shafts are likely to handle higher lateral loading the 37s create, not due strictly to tire weight, but more due to their increased moment...
I used brotella T6 5w40 the entire time on my gen 2 but stopped using it because it’s really formulated for diesel applications. My friend is a petroleum engineer and gave me a bunch of info about additives that aren’t ideal in gasoline engines that can potentially increase knock events. I can’t...
What dealer is this? RSM?
The heated wheel only applies to the Lightnings for now. I think Ford messed up in that the letter they sent out wasn’t specific enough, but if you look at the number of affected vehicles, it’s way too little to include Raptors. According to the tech I talked to the...
Exactly. I’ve owned several vehicles with front lockers. Used them very sparingly but were crucial when needed. But it’s pretty impossible to even get a Raptor into a situation where you’d need a front locker just due to its size, weight, and front ifs.
Of all the dipsh!t youtoobers out there, Matt Farah is one that I think has enough seat time in so many things to have a solid opinion. Driving the R with no torsen and Fords electronic system, he says he’s shocked it’s not a mechanical lsd and if nobody told him, he would think the R has one.
Took my truck in for other stuff today and brought this up. They confirmed it’s only for Lightnings at the moment, but that they believed Ford would be rolling it out for us eventually. They’re probably waiting for most owners to retrofit on their own dime, haha.
No codes, and not really any power either. It’ll flow better and have better transient boost response though. It’ll also support more power down the road.
