The car business seems to look at 2 factors when it comes to value/de-value on used vehicles. Usually you will see a drop at 100k miles and again when a vehicle hits the 10 year mark.
The last of the Gen1's is now a 10 year old truck, so we are seeing a downward trend now. Add into that the...
Watched an interesting youtube podcast with Ken from PBD and Brian Wolfe the engine director for Ford Motorsports/Global Engine etc etc..
Really interesting conversation around the architecture of the Godzilla, he wasn't shy about the shortcomings of the 6.2 as well as his dislike from the...
Check around the radiator cap on the surge tank. Look for a dry white cakey substance on the sides and bottom of the tank.
When/If you have a small leak up front like that its hard to see a puddle as the liquid gets blown off by incoming wind and dries/evaporates so you don't see any puddles...
Mentioned this on post #4..lol
Thought you checked this already!
Is it something you hear or feel?
If you have the tailgate with the step and stripper pole, take the tailgate off and go for a drive.. mine is ***** and makes a ton of noise from years of desert vibration..lol
When the truck is on jack stands (steering unlocked but truck off) you can cycle the steering by hand. This will push air out of the rack and burp air into reservoir instead of the pump churning and possibly cavitating.
Takes some elbow grease but a good way to slowly push out any air.
Start with getting rid of the MSD Coils. I had issues with mine on a blower truck. Went back to OEM and no issue.
Check all of the body grounds..there are a ton of them.
Clean a dielectric grease the grounds on body, there are several on the rad support behind each headlight, a big one from...
It sounds like your issue is in the T-Case or dif.
Have you gone to one of the good dealers mentioned and taken a 24 for a test drive to see if what you are feeling is there on the new truck?
Might be worth the time, then you can start the process with service as a verifiable difference this...
5 owners in 10 years isn't crazy, but I would definitely ask dealer to run an Oasis report to see if/what was ever done at the dealership. The hideous trim pieces can be replaced, it looks like a street queen TBH.
It has a couple good things going for it if the Oasis and Car/Fax check out.
Its a...
Nice looking truck..
Forever truck eh...Don't think I've ever had one of those, but I have had 4 Raptors LOL.
These things are durable if you look after them, the 11 with all the suspension has seen a ton of desert and Baja, runs great. It gets fluids and filters more than most vehicles but I...
All of them...
generally when we swap to boxed uppers and lowers we will at a minimum run a gusseted factory upright. Never had issues with the Brakes IWE, the hub etc.
Use a breaker to loosen caliper bolts, 4 bolts on hub etc before you smack the factory ball-joints loose so that parts aren't...
Its hard to guess what it could be without hearing the noise firsthand....There are so many things it could be!
Check to see if the emergency brake cable is slapping the newly installed Deavers.
I've done 4 trucks so far.
I do almost everything myself except for Transmissions and differentials.
Bolt on mid travel is a cinch.. Take it off, bolt it on.... I don't really think any of it is tricky. I have also done a Coyote F150 budget build for my son cutting out the buckets and welding...
Camburg also makes an upper with the bushing. If you do off-road a lot, get the upper with Heim so you can lock out the lower from moving.
Glad to see Evil hasnt changed...lol
I don't have the bolt kit, but I do have the RPG weld in bypass mount. The hard line has to get moved out of the way to install bu can get bent arountd the mount and clipped back into the plastic line retainers in the stock location.
Saw the 5 link with RST cage and coil overs on a buddy's truck here in TX.
He was doing some test miles for RPG.
Said they are finishing up the details on the kit for us Gen 1 guys.
Watching the truck at the track made me think this might be a good upgrade over leaf springs.
