Now a days, who knows who is #1. The lack of amateur and/or professional reviews/ comparisons makes the buying experience challenging. When I first got on this forum a few years ago, you couldn’t get people to stop talking about VisionX. It seemed like everyones Raptor had a pair of cannons on...
You have an amazing truck. You made some solid points in that post above. Aaaand, you have an entire warehouse shelf of BD on the front of your truck. Which I like and find absolutely pleasing to stare at. Flying work of art.
Thanks for the feedback. At this moment, the light from BD I am...
Interesting, I would have thought the second photo would be so much more focused for a Laser. Thanks for digging those up. Going to be a very informative thread for years to come. One I will probably refer back to often.

^ interesting. I PM’d VisionX last week and they told me they use the XP-L high in their ADV lights. BD uses that in their XL racer you say? I find that very interesting. gotta respect that BD gets every drop of water outta that stone.
Maybe that is how VX gets such great distance numbers on...
Aaaand, based on my research, ADV and BD XL Pro utilize CREE XP-L high LED’s. Maybe runs them harder? Who knows. BD claims they are the only ones to run their LEDs at 100% with their cooling tech (copper core)

This is from Alternative Off-road. I have bought all my lights from them and they are about an hour from me. No locals vendors and I don’t think AO has these on display.
I spoke to them. They are offering the same Black Friday promotion as last year. So, I would expect to drop around $590...
For those that stumble across this, if you had to pick one of these pairs, which one, and why. The why is important to me because your opinion is needed.
The VisionX 6’7” ADV:
Baja designs XL Pro: (which will actually be significantly cheaper than the ADV due to both vendor/ BD Black Friday...
It does. Haha. Still waiting to see the promotions. The BDforums coupon doesn’t really sway me because most vendors on here advertise at the BD 10% off on their site anyway. But, if I can get a good deal on the LP4 then I would absolutely pick up a pair.
Tough call to make. I am leaning...
Honestly, other than size/ shape, the VX reflectors look just like BD and Rigid. Wonderful mirror finish. The material used for the reflectors I am not sure about. But, the reflector surface itself look to be very similar when side by side.
Honestly, with my XPR, I would have never noticed...
That is a good point about the life expectancy. I wonder if there is anything that could be done after 2,000 hours or if the buyer is shit outta luck once the lasers go out. I like how VX is offering a laser light. Hopefully with competition we get some more innovation down the road. A better...
I talk to them on FB messenger. I have used email in the past and the response has been prompt for me. I actually had some slight condensation in my XPR after a hot humid pismo beach trip. This light bar was three years old and looked like it was still brand new. They sent me a brand new one...
I think the answer is simple for my situation. And that’s the ADV light. Would be killer on my top hoop and I more an confident AO would get me dialed in. Thank you sir.

Thanks for doing some research for me! And that response is much appreciated. I had never seen the BD Isolux plots before and I asked for that info not too long ago. Interesting stuff.
Honestly, I agree with every point you just laid out. The last few days of research brought me the same...
I ordered combo first. So I can check out two patterns at once. I recently bought the all wide cornering lens. Due to how low it is mounted, I enjoy this pattern very much. I am a firm believer, after spends lots of $$$$ and making mistakes, that a spot pattern doesn’t do justice mounted below...
