Here's real-world talk- I raced my buddies 24 with a whipple. My 23 is stock. We both know how to drive. He barely pulled away from me. Real tuning needs to come out, just gotta wait until then to see the real gains.
Agreed. It's just a csl. Drive it. My buddy that is in our car group has over 45k miles on his. My mclaren 600lt has 28k miles on it. Their made to be driven
Lubing the oil filter is oil change basics. The 5w-50 is thin and drains out fast. Of course take your time but this process is nothing to be discussed especially if you are a motor head. Heck I change oil in my cars(except my mclaren that is a little bit of a process) spur of the moment or when...
This thread turned into a nightmare lol this oil change is basic skills- super easy and a good design on the raptor. Once you do it you'll laugh and say how easy it was. Oil will not shoot out and hit the tire either. Just use a big pan to watch it in, drink some coffee, grab some rags and wipe...
Look behin the last silver skid plate(towards transmission and engine). Going to be a small black plate that 3 10mm bolts hold. It'll say oil drain on it.
Easiest engine to change the oil in. I've timed myself- took my time, clean up etc 32 mins. No skid plates off except the drain bolt one. Take your arm and reach from up top to gain access to the filter.
Change it yourself
** it's essentially the same process as the eco engine except viscosity...
Funny. I have 3 transit work vans that haul 1200 ish lbs everyday... all have over 200k miles on them with zero issues except normal maintenance. Oil changes always at 3k-5k miles since new. Only issue we've had with them are leaking turbo lines which require the trans to be pulled. My raptors...
Ok.
"Fluid dynamics can be used to study heat transfer, which is the movement of heat energy from a hotter area to a cooler area through a fluid. This process is called convection and can occur in both liquids and gases. The rate of heat transfer is affected by the fluid's velocity and...
These percentages mean nothing. When I was at the track day- mac techs inspect the car before going out and so forth. Had some good talks on the oil, lubricate etc. It's the oil coolers that are on the car that makes it super efficient when running the engine hard(oil temps stay right at 195-197...
They are tiny engines for the cylinder displacement. Any engine builder would tend to agree. Normal to large v8"s are 7.3 and higher. The 5.2 is small- not talking bad it is what it is. Shoot back in the day 4.3l etc were the typical v6's.
I'm just passing info on what fp said about the oil...
Ford performance claims it's for the angles and offroading. Just passing info.
Let's get back to what you said on stable oil, not true. Fluid dynamics 101- more fluid- more heat soak and that heat takes longer to de rease under a severe load. If you wanted to decrease heat fast then you would...
Keep grinding man. I drove beaters until I was 37 years old... 40 now and have a mclaren, audi rs5 and a raptor r and paid for.
Don't be humble either- own it, grind it out and you'll get there. Cheers man and love the story.
For offroading. Bigger oil pan to lubricate the engine properly while the truck is at extreme angles. Look it up on the for website.... more oil does not determine length of oil changes either, used oil is used oil. Don't look into it to much- it's not a high performance race engine. Just...
I have no idea. Never had a banks product.
I'd just wait for a good tuner to
I think you have it in reverse. The r is like the old banshees(had one lol). The r comes on like a 2 stroke more than the eb no doubt.
I gotta add though. I like my eco 23 raptor better. Rides nicer, smoother acceleration, better all around on daily driving. Hopefully tuning makes the r better- normal acceleration wise and shifting
