Occasionally rattling/clicking noise from front powertrain/differential

I'm going to second what Gumby said and I just fixed mine this morning. The IWE is (new info to me) seemingly a common issue, it was plaguing me for a week. I check the solenoid first and it was holding vacuum in the correct gearing (2), but not in 4 - good news. I then ordered the FoMoCo IWE...

GEN 2 (SOLVED - IWE Check Valve!) Strangeeee clicking - TqConverter? LSD (non-chemical)?!?!

Here's hoping! Thank you for the guidance on this issue, I put in a new check valve after testing the solenoid and running a smoke test, worked like a charm. Maybe now I can not feel guilty putting in my Cobb FMIC. Again, thank you for taking the time out of your day to help and I hope you guys...

GEN 2 (SOLVED - IWE Check Valve!) Strangeeee clicking - TqConverter? LSD (non-chemical)?!?!

Huge help, thank you! I cranked it into 4A yesterday, no issues, so that was a very helpful ID. Check valve went in this morning, all cleared up in 2A. I appreciate you taking the time to read and help, makes a huge difference.

GEN 2 (SOLVED - IWE Check Valve!) Strangeeee clicking - TqConverter? LSD (non-chemical)?!?!

Wow, this is the "I've never had a Ford truck before" post, huh? Thank you very much - certainly seems like it could be a culprit. Let's hope it's the easy part first, but the good news is that my rotors are brand f' new, so they'll come off without a 10lb sledge this time. Sigh. Thank you very...

GEN 2 (SOLVED - IWE Check Valve!) Strangeeee clicking - TqConverter? LSD (non-chemical)?!?!

I'm back! Unfortunately. Here's the low-down. I had a horrid vibrating under braking that I ended up doing new pads on - didn't work. Replaced front rotors - problem solved. Great. A hundred or so miles later, I ended hearing what I thought was a small impact wrench as I was driving, which I...

    Saying Hello

Welcome to FRF! Truck looks awesome, KHC makes some great stuff as well. What did you notice as a difference with the inlet tubes installed? Interested to hear as I’ve been toying with the idea.

    Shakin' while Brakin'

Long overdue, butttt - replaced the front rotors with Power Stop AR85108EVC (currently on sale on Amazon for ~$50 less than I paid when I got them a month or so ago), and that solved the issues after a nice bedding and some testing. Of note, though I’m likely preaching to the choir - PB Blaster...

Are you going to be making any more of the side vent in gloss or matte? Thanks!

Gen 2 build, late to the party.

This is an absolutely beautiful machine. I know you have 17 pages of forum that has already said that, but sweet mama jama this thing makes me go from six to midnight.

    Shakin' while Brakin'

Most excellent! I just ordered the powerstop rotors today and I will report back! Glad you got your issue sorted and more glad that you cranked brewskis. Thanks for the input!

Thanks! Have you had specific ones you like? Looks like I'm about to be in the market!

    Shakin' while Brakin'

Haha, thank you for the clarity. I knew the brake setup well enough but that you were inferring that gunk could've pooled somewhere and unbalanced it somehow. It happened to my sister's Audi when she got snow stuck between a few spokes of the rim and it was enough to make her car shudder. Thanks...

    Shakin' while Brakin'

Thanks, I hadn't REALLY check the inside of the rim, but an imbalance there might be the case so I'll have peek anyways.

    Shakin' while Brakin'

Thank you! It seems like the solution here is just new rotors - I'm going to go to an upgraded (StopTech, unless someone has a great recommendation otherwise) rotor as opposed to an OEM replacement. Thanks again, appreciate it!

    Shakin' while Brakin'

Thanks! I had checked 2-3, but I have not taken a look at the spindle. LIKELY, it's new rotor time. I was just hoping to put that money towards a new bumper, haha. Thank you very much for the sage advice.

    Shakin' while Brakin'

Thank you, that's the likely next step, just didn't know if anyone had other thoughts on it as well. I appreciate it!

Helllllo everyone, I am chasing a fairly significant shaking when braking at speed (35mph+) on my gen2. Here's what I've done to diagnose, with moderate success in relieving the shake: 1.) Visual inspection of rotors and brake pads with friend who is much more mechanically inclined - no...

Welcome, friend! Nice to find another one on here. I am also currently right at 55k, what are the odds? How do you like the headlights and the 3BL? I have been toying with the idea of doing that. That AutotecPro is AWESOME, how are you liking it? It's such a nice center piece of the truck, but I...
