I seem to be getting False Protection Alerts via Ford Pass. It says "Your vehicle was forcefully moved or impacted. Check location." Has happened about 1/2 dozen times. Scared crap out of me the first time. Have no idea what is setting it off. I have tried kicking the crap out of the tire...
I have been running BD on my 2020 and the only amber light I have is an S1 in the bumper pocket along with 2 white Squadrons. I'm getting old so I forgot that I was using a non-BD factory amber colored lens in the S1. So when I fired up my new S2 lights in the 2024, I was quickly reminded. I...
Sorry I am so slow....but just could not decide. Dropped an IM to John the other night fairly late and next thing I know John said to just call him so we could talk through what I wanted to do front and rear. Ran S2 rears on my 2017 then flush mount S1 on my 2020 (post #7), but went with S1 on...
So far it looks like "trim" stuff mostly been problems. Hoping more senior less hungover employees worked the serious stuff. To be clear...still love this thing.
Climbed under the other day....all mine good. BUT...working on installing lights and found the negative battery connection loose....so loose that I just pulled it off by hand.
So while under the truck today I noticed some rusty looking areas. Not near as much as on my 2017 or 2020. Also the aluminum pieces were bit corroded looking. Hit all of the rusty areas and all of the frame with Rustoleum Rust Reformer. To me the flat black looks better anyway....then next...
Today I took the gas tank skid plate off and drilled few holes in it. I back into my driveway which has a small incline. So water sits in the plastic skid plate as all the factory holes are in the rear. From the design it looks like it is designed to drain when on flat ground or nose up. All...
Took it off. Post #135/#136 in this thread. But now knowing how it is made, I would slide a plastic trim tool between the emblem and bracket it mounts to and put the emblem adhesive in there. Then tape it down till dried.
It will be easier if make sure to report ASAP and under 90 days from delivery.
I have a very small mark in my steering wheel trim, but it was only noticable with certain light and viewing angles. Used black marker to "fix" mine.
Just put my UPR on....just about easiest install ever.
So does anyone know the purpose of this piece which has a threaded hole in it? Only thing I can think of is to add stability as it wedges against the battery box.
And I am always surprised by all the tape used during truck assembly...
I would have done the same if I had known that the FP one changed from rivets to just a stick on. Oh well....I will do that 5 years from now on my next Raptor.
Not a resin expert. Used something I got from Amazon for cheap. It said it would get rid of bubbles without any heat.....did pretty good but had to hit it quickly with a torch. But if don't have a torch, the minor bubbles would not have mattered under the truck.
So on my first 2 covers (2017 and 2020), I used the gasket and bolts that came with the cover....no problems. However, I decided to try the Lubelocker gasket after taking a look at how it was made. Looks way better than the one that came with the cover. Also got the ARP Differential Cover...
Did not have as many issues as some....but almost got everything taken care of. Got the passenger side rear fender flare today. Fits perferectly compared to the large gap at the top of the original one. Got driver side done a week or two ago. Nice thing is something hit my passenger flare...
I went this route. First I cleaned them with aluminum cleaner/polish just to get the rough feeling off of them. They came out pretty good, but decided to shink wrap. I wanted to be able to redo / remove if needed so preferred with a non-adhesive wrap, but had this so just did not get it hot...
Exhaust leak fixed today. Can't recall what thread this was discussed it so figured I would post it here. There is a fairly common exhaust leak under the driver's seat where the driver-side catted downpipe makes it's connection to rest of the exhaust. It did not look that it was fully seated...
Replaces with ML3Z-5A212AD and now on back order. Could go with SPD one. I'm waiting to see what dealer says about leak first before changing anything. Appointment next week to find out.
