For the record. I tried to buy the EBS Brakes and yellow pads, but American Trucks sucks. Ended up doing the Power Stop Z36 from Amazon.
My greatest purchase was the $30 mechanics seat from Harbor freight. Couldn't have done the job without it.
Not a fan of the PAC solution. Makes you go behind the radio for no reason. and any time they say they are converting high to low, I run. With the ZEN A2B, you pick up all connections in the back of the cab by the amp and CAN BUS. Spend the extra money on the ZEN, it is a better solution.
go to ford parts dot com
put in your VIN.....get the correct part number...then go to rock auto
I just went though this and decided to go aftermarket. no way I would do pads without rotors on a truck this big
places an order for brake pads and rotors 11 days ago. 3-21-24
When I placed the order, it was supposed to be delivered by 3-26-24. On 3-28 I call them. We are working on it. It will now SHIP 4-1.
Called today on 4-2, still not shipping. They needed an additional 5 days just to update my...
it may help for back seat passengers. It is just rear fill for the front seats. I have never asked my kids how it sounds in the back.
have not given any thought yet to what I am gonna do.....just that I am gonna do it.
After 5 years. Planning on refreshing the system this summer. New components up front. New coax in the doors. May and squeeze in 2 12’s instead of 10’s
THANK YOU ALL for the comments and lively discussion. Right now I am leaning towards the
*******EBS Series 9 slotted rotors and the YELLOW Stuff pads. Looks to be $800 all in.
The Powerstop kit is a close second and about $250 cheaper, but something in my research is just telling me that set...
I have a Raptor, if it Avocado oil is better for my truck, I will switch from Canola. Nothing it too much for my truck, except premium gas. that's a non-starter. Thanks for the tip.
Canola pure peanut oil. It is way lower viscosity when it is cold. Keeps its lubrications in tact up to 325 degrees. Seriously. That’s what you should run.
Yes. If abs kicks in. You failed. That’s why I don’t think we need “more stopping power”. One can easily get the tires to “lock up” so there is plenty of grip.
Now. If I needed better modulation to keep from hitting the and threshold. I would replace the entire system.
I think I am just going with OEM as everything else looks like chinesium crap, but throwing this out for 1 last recommendation.
Rotated the tires this weekend and I am 1/16th of an inch from the wear makers touching the rotors. New pads an rotors needed within the month.
