I know exactly what you are talking about. In my experience some engins have really slow drain back so like someone else said, just give it a few minutes to drain back. As far as holding oil after a change, I haven't had that problem. I dont measure when it comes out most times but I always put...
Goddamn she must have had 1 too many big gulps haha
Thanks for that video, that is a lot of water!
However I still don't believe that's the problem. How many miles are on that motor? Also after looking at the comments that was after a 6hr drive through heavy rain and he said in the...
Yes I do know that... I have installed many meth kits, literally just dynoed a 2015 mustang with a whipple and meth kit 1hr ago. Your condescending comment aside, that's just not true. The idea of your inter-cooler holding enough volume of standing water to hydro-lock your engine is ridiculous...
I have been avoiding saying anything on this topic because I really don't like to get involved in peoples conjecture, especially on the internet. I am really tired of hearing about this so here is my 2 cents...
I have been building race cars for a long time now, and our shop specializes in...
You did the turbo smart one that just goes into the ic? From those codes I would say its because you dont have the bov circuit cheater on there, or its not getting good connection. Plug the old bov in to the connector, ziptie it to something so it doesn't fall out, reset codes and see if that...
Hey! Sorry been so busy with work.
Nothing too new, just been fiddling my tune. Don't wanna mess with it too much before we get it on the dyno. He wants stock numbers so I'll have to convert it back to stock then put my other stuff back on it. Unfortunately we and the dyno have been way too...
Oh I agree about the cracking, I was just saying that a ball and coupler is not a "real" flex point. However I have no problem believing that it's capable of more flex then a fixed flange.
So not to be too pedantic but ball and coupler on the adapter shouldn't really move, and by design isant really a flex point. There really needs to be a flex coupler somewhere. But that's just how I would design it. I'm sure their design is just fine.
So no loss of driveability. However that video is of the fullrace charge pipe I'm pretty sure, and I really didn't like that design. When I made my pipe I was kinda worried about that, we put it as high is we could. Its really close to the throttle body, I'd say around the ford logo on the front...
Thats awesome!! I have an evo too, not quite as much horsepower haha but Its a road race car. We specialize in turbo kits at our shop so we have a lot of trial and error, learned a lot over the years.
So cars recirculate the bov for two reasons, to quiet down the sound ( most people for want...
So I had to make a new aluminum inter-cooler pipe to install it ( I own a fab shop just to let you know I'm not a home garage wizard lol )
I am running a Tial bov. My favorite one we have come across. We use it on everything.

So a recirculated or a bpv as you mentioned generally does make less noise then a vent to atmosphere bov. If you run an aftermarket filter you can still hear a recirculated one quite well. They are the same part, doing the same job, difference is where they send the air.
The turbosmart one...
Turbo smart sells one for the 16+ f150. I built a new charge pipe and put a tial on mine but during the process I noticed it seems exactly the same. I bet it works just fine. Also the way most Ford ecoboost engines meter air it won't cause a problem.
A little update!!
I built the charge pipe yesterday and added the Tial BOV to it. It sounds great. Super aggressive, but not annoying in regular driving. With the addition of the extra boost, if you let off up top in sport or manual shift its quite the sound. I thought that the stock dv block...
Agreed! That has always been my plan. We all know the EB has pretty small turbos but it was always been fuel limited because of the di. Now that it has port injection too just need to find the in tank fuel pump limit and the size of the pi injectors.
So started with the tune yesterday, she is really opening up. Butt dyno approved haha put a transmission map on it a few mins ago and she really getting happy.
Gonna put it on the dyno next door this week, before we mess with it any further.
I'll keep you guys updated!

Also for anyone wondering, you can turn auto stop/start off with the tuner. Not sure if it does the same thing as forscan. I will test when I get a chance ( see what the status on the dash says )
So I definitely thought about it, but I pulled the tune off it and I really don't think so. I have looked around the map and don't see anything to imply that's true. Think is more about Ford's torque management stuff.
