Yea, a drop crossmember setup seems to really kill the ground clearance on stuff. I've kind of looked at the difference between my friend's TRD Pro Tundra with the Fox suspension stuff and the Raptor and it's pretty clear the Raptor has a lot more ground clearance with the same size tires. Guess...
Only coffee I drink these days comes from one of my customers that runs a traveling coffee bus and does grounds. Not much for the expensive places. I just hadn't heard a lot about people upgrading to the Alcon, Baer, or Wilwood setups so I was curious.
Looking to purchase a roof rack, thought it would be nice to be able to mount perimeter lighting to and for gear during trips. Although I like the lower profile racks I do not like the idea of drilling into the roof of the cab. That being said it looks like they do make crossbars that clamp...
Figured I'd update this if anyone else was curious. Decided not to go through with this project after looking at a few other F-150's with this setup. Although I do like that you get some better visibility while towing to see around the truck, the mirrors just don't match the styling of the truck...
Finally got the Softtopper installed and absolutely love it. I'll get some pictures posted up of it after I get a chance to get the truck cleaned as it's incredibly dirty right now.
I have the Powerstop Z36 heavy duty truck front and rear kit currently with the matching powder coated red calipers and 6-piece Crown stainless brake line set. It's been great, I've just been wondering if it's worth upgrading further.
Updated pictures of my setup with the Softtopper installed. The ratchet straps over the traction boards aren't pulling on the frame, they're just tight against the boards. I like that the swing cases are still very easy to access, and the hi-lift jack, offroad plate, and the wheel chocks are out...
Are the rotors the same diameter though? If they fit under a 17" wheel I'd imagine they gotta be about the same since the factory brakes fill up a 17" wheel pretty closely. I get thicker technically will help dissipate temperature better since there's more mass. Also, another question. That...
No worries, like I said, it's just curiosity. I just assumed that maybe someone had done a breakdown of the reasoning or had done the testing as to any differences it made.
Bumping this back up. So far the plan for sure is to do Geisers on the front and Deavers in the rear. I'm thinking Gen 2 OEM LV shocks with the SDI e-click with the appropriate adapters to run those shocks. I'm getting to the point where the stock shocks could be rebuilt and am still on stock...
I'm not saying that I want to, it's more just curiosity. I already have 37's, and the next plan is Geisers on mid perch, +3 Deavers, and Gen 2 live valve shocks with the controller. I previously had an F-250 with a 4" lift and 35's and it didn't do anything to help the truck drive any better...
That's mostly what I have read as well. I understand the stock brakes should be pretty decent since it's a truck that's made to tow weight, was just wondering if anyone had done any of the big brake upgrades and noticed it made any serious difference. I feel like having to go to 20's to fit the...
Just something I've always been curious on. Is there a way to lift a Raptor without ruining the ride quality or the performance? I know that you can do like a 2-3" "lift" with something like coilovers or Geisers in the front and Deavers in the back that will retain or increase performance, but...
Hey guys! Currently have the Powerstop Z36 heavy duty truck front and rear brake kit as well as the Powerstop red powercoated calipers, Crown Performance 6-piece stainless brake kit with red sheathing in a 3" lift length, and the system was flushed and refilled with full synthetic DOT 4 fluid...
I just had a friend that picked up the Gen 2 OEM 3.0's front and rear for 600 bucks on eBay that were brand new. I plan running Geisers in the front and Deavers in the back. Internal bypass coilovers would be about 3000 and external bypass rears would be 2200, so around 5200 for that. Gen 2 OEM...
I'd imagine for what I would spend on the external bypass shocks I could probably get the Gen 2 live valve shocks, controller, and shock bucket and I'm guessing I would probably enjoy that setup more.
I figured the Geiser fronts and Deaver rears even with good stock 2.5's would be a good upgrade. Everyone says that they suck up bumps a lot better, but also perform better and ride smoother too. The SVC bumps I haven't read a ton about, but I'd assume if you're pushing the truck they are...
Pretty interesting setup for sure. Looks like it allows the use of the Gen 2 live valve shocks on Gen 1 and being able to control the shocks remotely in the cab. From what I see for the front shocks you need the adapter kit from Mikra manufacturing, but it looks like the rears are direct...
