The seller offered me a fairly large discount on ordering the unit, so I went ahead and put the order in. I'll update the thread after I get it and start the install. :)
Got some more info on the unit - 14.5" screen, 8GB RAM/128GB ROM, 8-core GTE processor, Android 11, and retains all stock functions including Sync 2 stuff. This would be quite a huge upgrade over the Android 9 PX6 unit, much larger and higher resolution screen and about double the processing...
I'm curious as well. I have the 12.1" unit currently that has only a few of the physical buttons at the bottom which as been perfectly fine thus far. I'm just wondering if not having the volume and temperature knobs will be a detriment, but I'm willing to try it.
After running into the issues with Phoenix Automotive delaying the 13" Android 10 unit I had ordered and cancelling the order due to getting a bit of the run-around, I decided to do some more digging around on things. Phoenix Automotive mentioned they were cancelling the Android 10 units and...
Decided to go ahead and order the Hella Supertone red high/low tone horn kit. Most likely I will just make my own bracket for them since they are pretty easy to mount. :)
Yep, that's what I'm using. No rattle issues and it's quite secure. The jack weighs quite a but and the way the hook it shaped holds it on pretty securely, plus the other side has a full clamp.
Yea, it's more of a Coyote Tan than FDE I think. Kind of want red because red means fast, but I also would love to paint them to match my favorite Starbucks cup.
Makes sense. I'm debating just buying the front Alcons since they are "reasonably" priced. It's still hard to imagine spending 3500 on just the rear kit.
Sounds like you'd be best off just ordering the tie rod end kits and returning them if you don't need them just to be safe. It's too bad you can't get the rears that cheap. :( I wonder how they are able to get those calipers, pads, rotor, and hardware for so cheap.
Are there different bracket options available? I've only seen 1. I want to say the other downside to the Alcon kit is you can't run dust shields anymore and they need to be removed. We had talked about the kits before in the Gen 1 section. Downside to not getting those through Alcon is they only...
Typical Gen 2 owners getting upset when the Gen 1 people give them anything remotely resembling sarcasm. Maybe Starbucks will be open later to calm your nerves. :) The angry and facepalm reacts remind me of Facebook. lol
Although the Power Stop kit is factory sized stuff the pads and rotors are upgraded over stock, plus having fresh calipers makes a big difference from worn and tired factory stuff.
I have the Power Stop Z36 Truck and Tow kit with the red painted calipers. I'm very happy with it. The Alcons are very nice, but 7000 is a large pill to swallow.
Options for sticking with stock 17's would be the Power Stop upgraded pad/rotor kit for the stock setup, or the Alcon big brake kits. Power Stop kit runs around 450-ish for the truck and tow kit. Alcon runs about 7000 for the front and rear kit.
