the at3 from toyo also comes in a D ply if you havent seen that.
Also i think the balancing thing is just a BFG thing, i think their QC has gone down a bit.
@EricM
I get that. I used to be a Toyo/Nitto only customer but after having Toyo RT's, AT3's and Nitto RG's I tried Falken's for the winter. We had a couple bad winters and I needed better snow/ice traction. Never turned back after that winter. They don't balance nearly as easily as Toyo/Nitto...
...+4HD Deavers, Forged Off road shock rebuild
D- aftermarket thermostat (a must) for the 90+ degree mountain climbs, goose tune tow tune. 35" ToyoAt3 E load rating on 20's. A sin around here. But it is/was bought for towing the camper and some offroading. WD hitch is another a must.
Are you...
Nitto Ridge Grapplers
Toyo RT
ToyoAT3
All of them suffered from becoming very loud after 10k miles... wore super fast ( RT looked horrible) ... SUCKED (ridge grappler should be noted as the WORST tire ive ever driven in wet/snow/ice) in winter conditions. And all expensive as hell. I bught so...
Looks like the LT version (218710) is a 10 ply and has a deeper tread. I have 10 ply ToyoAT3's on my truck and they ride just fine. I also like the padded load rating in case I tow something. Nice peace of mind vs a 6 or 8 ply.
I had K02's on my F150 XLT and changed to Toyo Open Country A/T III's...much better. Local shop was not able to get the alignment right for the KO2's. After I ware out the KO2's on by 2019 Raptor I'll go to AT3's.
So contacted TireRack to swap out my BFG's that have been a nightmare for 315/70/17 ToyoAT3. Figured once last bump for anyone's thoughts between 35 x 12.50 - E Range vs 315/70 - D Range. The "only" superficial thing that has me curious of the true 35 is the flotation size have more...
Why not just get a larger 35. Ko2 315/70/17 are so damn small. measure way less than 34.4inches. Toyo Rt Trail, Cooper ST maxx, At3w in 35s all run pretty large, save on weight, and prolong the length of the components of your truck vs just stunting on people for having 37s
Yea, that's the quandary I'm in. Frankly, I'd go back to a true 35 in a heart beat BUT I don't really want to run an E rated tire. The C rated versions for whatever reason in the two tires I'd consider (Falken AT3W or ToyoAT3) are only rated to 35psi.
Just because Nitto is a subsidiary or Toyo does not mean that Nitto tires are Toyo tires. Nitto sucks and I've never had luck with them. The ToyoAT3 I had great success in all conditions with, they are very good in wet/slick environments and do fine in the desert as well. They don't throw...
It'll be tight with no trimming but I'd recommend the Eibach front and rear springs. You might be good for regular street driving.

Nitto Ridge Grapplers
Pretty much the exact opposite of your experience with the RGs on every point.
I've had no issues with the Ridge Grapplers in the rain. I've driven them thousands of miles in the rain at highway speeds with no problems. It goes, stops, turns, and doesn't...
How do you like the 35" AT3 vs the OEM BFG? Are those C or E rated ones? I wanted to steer clear of E rated ones due to ride quality but the C rated is oddly rated to only 35psi which is too low.
I like my new Toyo Open County AT3 C-rated...coming from BFG KO2 C-rated the Toyo is quieter and rides the same. Haven't tested them off road yet unfortunately but they're good in rain.
+1 on ToyoAT3
I have a set of 35s on the wheels im selling and I prefer them over the K02's.
They also gave me a huge weight savings in combined with lightweight wheels. 16 lbs per corner over OEM.
Happy to report that the ToyoAT3’s handled great through a severe winter storm up through NM and CO. It nuked 2.5ft in less than 24hrs the second day of the storm. Made it through Chama then on through the Million Dollar Hwy to Ouray.
Pic is start of the second day after the first day...
