I have a 2019 Raptor that pretty much lives in the garage (costs to much to fix anything that goes wrong ) jk but it really does pretty much stay in the garage unless im going on a long trip. Hate to say it but i can probably count on both hands how many times I've driven it since I got in July 2023. I just prefer driving my old trucks but wanted a new one incase they broke down... It has 47,000 miles on it. So far I haven't had any issues but I've really been debating on going to a 2022+ Tundra that would also mostly sit in the garage haha. I'm weighing out the problems truck to truck since in my opinion all new trucks are built for quantity not quality. Just wanting opinions from people that have went from one to the other.

Went would you buy another truck to sit in he garage?

I'm not seeing any logic here if there is no problems with your truck but you're weighing problems
I guess just looking at long term type things. Cam phasers for one, who knows maybe this one would get lucky and never have the issue but also everytime I start it I cringe that im going to hear that $4k+ rattle that has a better chance than not of happening. Next thing transmission, read alot of them going bad for really no reason (I'll take that with a grain of salt because I don't necessarily believe that one) but if so there's another $6k fix. I'm just writing mostly what I've read. I really do like my Raptor alot!

Mostly just want to know if people that have had the tundras have issues like this mostly engine wise that are more likely to happen than not and from what I've seen toyota is alot better at owning up to big issues than ford is.

Only reason I have the Raptor is because my tacoma has 300,000 miles and cummins has 260,000 miles so I wanted a new truck that I could rely on if those trucks happened to finally have major issues and the raptor has the good suspension and 35's from factory so if I needed to use it hunting I could.

Might want to do a little search on tundra engine issues… but if it’s going to sit in a garage might not matter if it’s at yours or the dealers. Hah.

Aside from engine issues on the new tundras I’ll say their interior fitment is pretty garbage. I’ve driven and looked at several and most of them have dash rattles when you close the glove box or close the doors.

Just don’t see any positives to the tundra right now with their price, questionable engines, interior and lack of real off road options. I mean look at how low to the ground the TRD “pro” is… hardly a raptor replacement.

I owned a 2010 Tundra put 125k miles on it with no problems. Knowing that the older Tundra's are very reliable I wouldn't touch a new one. I have a good buddy works at the local Toyota dealer and he is full of horror stories about the new Tundra's. I've owned two Raptors 2023 801a and a 24 802a and had zero problems. The forum is filled with the unlucky few that have had problems. Owning and truck is a gamble. Get one with a warranty.

Well I did buy a raptor knowing all the stereotypes soooo it's possible hahaha
We need some kind of "good sport" ranking around here. We give a ton of shit to people and not everyone handles it well.
@Wyo_Roadhunter you passed with flying colors. I can only assume by your name your are out west, and lets face it, us western folk do not have our ******* in a bunch like those eastern SOB's.
