I'm no mechanic, far from it, but I always thought it was the other way around. The stock engine and its computer is programmed to suck only so much air. A tune can take advantage of the new intake, not the other way around.
exactly what I was going to suggest. I much prefer to let someone else do the driving to the airport, even though from my house it's like $200 each way. Parking at the near lots to the terminal in NY is like forty bucks a day so it evens out.
