Got it and found it! So unless they want to replace the TCU *again* AND re-do all the harnesses, there is really no reason why they should touch any of my sound system, I reckon?
I've searched a lot and can't find a picture or diagram on where the TCU is installed. Would you know by any chance? Thanks again for chiming in.
Update: Lebanon Ford is the real deal now. They are replacing my clunky rear shocks with no questions asked. They tried clearing codes to solve the...
So I had a professional sound installer replace the disastrous installation that came with the truck and he thought it could maybe address the TCU issue since he never had an issue before in any other installation he had done. That didn't fix it.
I now have also the pre-collision assist warning...
Please don't crucify me :)
I love detailing my truck myself but I don't get to do it as often as I would like, so I typically keep my cars in reasonable order in between going to auto car washes.
Have you had any experience with one for Raptors? I know most won't take it as it's really wide...
I don't. Really my first Ford and just purchased it 45 days ago.
I wouldn't buy anything different either. Unfortunately, I just trusted Ford's program and didn't do my own due diligence. Lesson learned the hard way, I guess...
Latest: Schaumburg Ford will reimburse me for the OEM amp, fresh...
Thanks! I'm guessing the TCU didn't pass the network test given the Ford chat rep doesn't see it pinging since September.
Took the truck to my local customs shop and the awesome guys there showed me that the previous owner actually ruined the OEM sound system too, putting 90's garbage with 5...
Fair take. I was personally looking for the remote start function on the app being lazy and not having to reach for the keys or when I'm out in the city and want to warm up the car before heading out.
I'm heading to my local accessories shop to quote rebuilding the sound system and eventually...
It’s the first Ford I ever purchased, how would I know? Lol. Kudos to the dealership and their awesome customer service…
But the problem seems beyond that. As I mentioned, the modem seems to have stopped working per Ford chat and replacing the TCU at the dealership didn’t do it. They are saying...
TL;DR: purchased out of state used Blue Advantage Gold Certified 2022 Raptor, can't use Fordpass app because I the truck's modem won't work - hasn't pinged since September. Local dealership replaced TCU (telematics control unit) and says they need to install OEM amplifier for it to work now...
