Now all of that makes sense. Thanks for the context! I’ve just reached out to LVJ on messenger and found myself an installer locally for both the amber lights and radio.
About the radio, I’ve seen the options here but also saw a bunch around 200$ on Amazon vs 400$. Other than VHF 50W, does it have other requirements? Would something like this work?
I appreciate a lot everyone's inputs here! Really helping.
I've decided to go the mounted radio option based on the feedback here. Will grab a handheld additionally if I happen to show up again next year. Will also install the rear ambers.
That's great feedback on the S2 - I was already going...
Makes a lot of sense. As it will be my first year and I'm not even sure if I'll be able to do runs again (although I'd love to), I didn't want to spend a dime more than I needed, so was looking at the cheapest radio options. If yours are within de 150-250$, please send me the options over DM...
Thank you for the thorough answer! Will definitely be getting the kinetic rope and straps then.
About the radio, why do you think a 50W is necessary? Even when riding in groups? Maybe for the possibility of getting lost?
On tires, decided to go with the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T after...
Well, I'm not exactly new but realized better late than never :)
I've purchased the truck of my dreams back in Nov '23 from Schaumburg Ford in Illinois - terrible experience, by the way - as Blue Certified with 19k miles on it.
So far, no mods other than custom wheels and tire (Fuel 20"...
Hello everyone,
Will be joining SnoBall (https://www.runraptorrun.com/events/the-snoball-2025/) in January and now working through the list of prep items. If you can't tell already, I don't have a lot of off-roading experience (Snowshoe, WV/Chillicothe, OH/Serra da Canastra, Brazil). Would love...
THIS.
Blue Certified means JACKSHIT and if you call Ford and ask "what the hell", they will tell you flat out that dealerships are like franchises - each run their own - and they would happily report the program issue to the responsible sector (like, "sorry, your complaint has been noted"). No...
I haven't had a lot of cars in the past and it was my first time purchasing an used one. Learned my lesson the hard way but that's not how businesses should be ran. If I hadn't gotten compensation from the dealership I purchased it from for all of their gaps, I'd had the Illinois Chamber of...
I'm assuming this was a reply to my post.
The truck was supposed to be BlueCertified which gave me confidence I was purchasing something Ford was willing to back up - which I'm also wrong. Phone customer support told me that dealerships work like franchises and if they are not following a Ford...
The pre-collision assistant issue has now been fixed too but I can't tell what did it. Best guess is TCU update @Antho provided me?
Why wouldn't the dealership update software every time if you agree to it? Or at least for weird bugs like this when you randomly get an error code... try updating...
My 2022 Raptor is my first Ford and, so far, my experience with 3 dealerships already have been terrible.
Purchased the vehicle last November with 18k miles in IL, was supposed to be Blue certified and it was just a box of surprises: didn't get the new wipers, oil change and full gas tank; came...
Final update: @Antho provided me an incredible support and helped me debug it every step of the way, even being my first time touching Forscan/OBD, fuse boxes, etc.
Issues in order of fixing:
Missing TCU fuse... micro3 5A fuse 8/9 was not there. Previous owner likely removed to prevent any...
Sorry, you are absolutely right. I was hoping the dealership would fix it but I’ve decided to try all I can now myself.
The TCU was plugged in
I have now unplugged it and plan to leave it for the next hour per your initial suggestion
Forscan doesn't even detect the TCU and wireless modules so I can reboot them... @FordTechOne any clues, please?
Error codes related to not being able to communicate with TCU. Tried clearing code and it comes back on
Also sharing my experience here with Lebanon Ford in Ohio. Dropped my truck with 25k miles and clunky noise coming from the rear suspension. Shocks were replaced after a week (due to parts backorder) with no questions asked. Such a smooth ride now!
Update: will unplug the negative wire from the battery later today and ordered a Forscan adapter to try and reboot both modules per thread the below

Still, no connectivity features working - just figured truck can’t find WiFi networks either. Saw in other F150 forums to remove and put back fuse 32 and didn’t help.
Some others suggested removing the TCU connections and leave overnight but I guess that won’t do much since my TCU was replaced...
