I’ll note - the actual dyno #s are somewhat irrelevant as it’s not a Raptor on 35”s w/ 4.10s….but I think stock raptors dyno 340-370whp & 93 octane tuned raptors 420-450
I am screenshotting this from C&D mag back in 2019- took 4 bone stock OEM vehicles & ran em on dyno w/ 87 vs 93 octane, one of which was an F150 w/ the same 3.5 HO in our Raptors- not only did the Ford pick up the most hp/tq, it SIGNIFICANTLY improved the performance erasing 6/10ths from 0-60...
Keep in mind I THINK there’s something unique about the Raptor transfercase that is different from other F150s & enables more seamless & quicker transfer of power to the front wheels, it certainly seems that way to me compared to other “4 auto” trucks I’ve driven in the past.
Plus what ford...
If your shocks haven’t been rebuilt/swapped by this time you’re getting close. My 2020 shocks started “buzzing” @ startup & initial drive as each shock went bad & the solenoids would go nuts on startup not getting the right feedback due to weak pressure in the shock low nitrogen or whatever. If...
I recommend him & didn’t even use his tune (I already had a tuner/tune from Gearhead in my 2018 that I had “swapped” over to my 2020 for relatively short $$$ or I’d have gone the goosetune route didn’t want to have to splurge on a new device) simply b/c I’ve followed his work on YouTube & this...
I forgot they didn’t all have the widebody fenders in rear. That’d probably be the 1st mod for me im running 305s, you need like 335s w/ a hellcat, Mickey Thompson ET street SS or Nokian NT01s etc
You don’t know how to drive or choose tires, or both. I have modded C5Z that makes more power @ the wheels than hellcats do @ the crank…& it weighs about 1300 lbs less on top of that & still has the transverse leaf setup….so if you can’t put power down in a hellcat it’s the Indian not the arrow...
When the TRX debuted is was only slightly more than a Raptor in fact I think a loaded Raptor was very close price was to a mid trim TRX. When I bought my 2018 801a Raptor for $60k I could’ve bought a TRX w/ nicer interior/more options for $79k
Now ram makes a TRX light w/ the RHO that has more...
Why did your engine blow? I guess that goes for both lol
Makes me nervous mine is at 86k miles & only issue I’ve had is a tiny crack in a valve cover which I replaced.
The rear window can completely roll down…that’s about it, that pretty much sums up the “advantage” Toyota trucks have over the competition (altho I must admit it is a very nice feature & I wish all trucks had it as an option)
While I see one tramkmotive CV listed as a Raptor specific part - it’s only one side & I’m not 100% certain it’s the right part #, I also see other trakkmotive CVs listed
So what to go w/ on a “budget” Trakkmotive AAR CV’s or these surtrak extended travel ones? Like I said My truck is lifted...
Yeah I am running SVC adjustable collars in front & deaver+3HD rear so about an 1”-1.25” higher in front…not a lot but maybe worth considering (that being said the OEM axles started getting noisy @ 82k miles before I even did the suspension update….maybe that made it worse tho!)
Ironically the trakkmotive one is listed @ 1/2 the price, but it’s sure as hell “looks” better quality (anti-corrosion finish etc) will have to do a lil research, see attached pic but who knows if actually better quality
Actually….the OEM motorcraft CVs I found on rockauto are cheaper than the decent looking aftermarket ones I found on American trucks/summit (see attached) assuming TX802/804 are the right ones lol
Insanity that the dealer quoted me $5k for this when it seems like I could buy all the parts for...
