    The rack gets screwed in to where the front two tie-down points are in the bed of the truck and it is used to hold the hot rod and/or lowball mounts. The hot rod is for thru axle applications and the loball is for quick-release applications without a thru axle. The differences between the mounts is probably better explained on the website - https://rockymounts.com
