I know Lee recommends using ONLY Lee power steering fluid in their pumps, but has anyone used Amsoil or another quality product in these pumps?

I would recommend to stick with their power steering fluid. Their fluid viscosity is different and their pump was designed to maximize the performance while using their fluid.

I actually wouldn't mind running the recommend fluid, it's just the shipping time on this stuff is killer being from Canada. Anyone know of a Lee distributor in Canada? Would make ordering it so much better.
Makes an argument for running a Howe PSP.

Since any ps system is just a fluid pump, yes you could run any oil, heck water and it'd work, it's just a question of which will perform better.

I just picked up a 2014 SE with the Lee PS system in it, and before I bought it I noticed it had red fluid in the reservoir, presumably atf or ford fluid, it was thick on my finger and smelled like atf, so it's obviously the wrong fluid. Lee's special anti-foam oil is yellow. I had a gallon jug of Lee the garage already because I was going to run it in my other 2014's, to hopefully quiet the oem ps pump. Lee's fluid looks thinner.

So with the wrong thicker fluid, I am hearing the ps pump a little. The Lee pump is said to be better and quieter than the Howe, and it had better overall user reviews, so if I were you, I'd strongly recommend doing your homework @Gorzz . Here's a YT review from KeepinItDirty where he didn't hold back, explaining why he removed his Howe ps and replaced it with Lee.

My Lee still has a little hum, more than an oem pump, but overall, not loud at all. I'm hoping when I flush the atf out and go to the mellow yellow, it'll quiet up a little more, but it's nothing obnoxious, as it reminds me I've got a great cast iron ps pump under the hood.

So to answer your question, I can let you know if the system performs more quietly with the proper Lee fluid. Maybe research what kind of fluid Lee uses? They gotta be private labeling some other oil, cuz I doubt Lee refines special oil themselves. I'm looking over the jug right now, fluid is pale yellow, and may be thinner than atf. There are no other bottle markings other than the little yellow Lee label, and the only clue there is, "For Racing Applications Only". Who else makes a pale yellow anti-foam ps fluid 'for racing only' ;) ??
