Currently in a 2017 raptor which i love but selling it as it just left warranty and feeling like upgrading. I have been going back and forth on gen 3 raptor or TRX then I ordered a 2025 RHO since i got a price i couldnt pass on. Fast forward almost 9 months later RHO still hasnt been built (typical stellantis) so im back to looking for TRX or gen 3 raptors. Im kind of leaning towards the raptor as i like it better offroad, the power is more than plenty and i hate the 300 mile range in the trx as i actually offroad in the desert and mountains alot and do not want to pack gas or get range anxiety. Yes the supercharge and interior is incredible in TRX and i am a total hotrod guy but im also sensible. So down to gen 3 raptor more than likely.
I found a white 2022 raptor 801a w/recaro and sunroof with 25k miles, gold warranty and super clean for 65k, another dealership in BF egypt has a brand new shelter green 2024 i could likely get for close to invoice ($77k) since they are never going to sell it. Is it worth 10-12k more for a 24 vs 22 ? in person i like the looks of the gen 3 but i think the gen 3.5 will grow on me, the shelter green i like more than white but not a huge concern. i also like the 100k powertrain the 22 comes with, as well as the torsen front end . What do yall think? I thought about waiting for the RHO but they seem to be plagued with issues on the ones that have arrived and they exhaust note is truly terrible.

Welcome to FRF
Pictures. Or you really have prius ;-)

I’d say advantage ’22, since you off road and the ’22 has the Torsen. And... S/G. Have you seen it in person? If not, you had better lay eyes on it first, it’s not for everyone for sure.

I think it's really a preference here.

For me, I dislike the new design of the '24+ head lights/grille/tail lights. I had the option to go '24 or '23 and chose '23 for the "better" (IMO) styling. The pro's of the '24.....newer, more warranty, HUD, new gauge cluster.

As a hot rod guy, I would think that you may lean more towards the '22 due to the availability of tuning options that the '24 just simply doesn't have. The money saved could also get you to "full bolt-on" if that's your thing.

I would choose a 2025 if I could wait a month and pay close to invoice. This market is crazy to predict so who knows where prices are going over the next 12-24 months. I think we should see cheap interest rates and flat pricing for a while. No more Billions going into the EV bucket. Perhaps we will get our $5-10k rebates (LOL).

On the used truck check in service/purchase date; being 2 versus 3 years old makes big difference. If new 2025 is $77k what is a 2022 that is 3 years old worth (dealer ??) .

it was built september of 2022 so a little over 2 years old. Think i should offer lower on it? 60k? its been for sale over a month. I was thinking of ordering a 2025 raptor but i already spent 9 months waiting on the POS RHO so im needing a truck now and over waiting.

I believe you can tune a 2022, but not 2023+

I would try and find a Raptor without a sunroof.
optimally no sunroof but that also gets rid of the power tailgate so ya win some ya lose some. I neveruse mine on my current raptor. As far as tuning the stock power is great for me, especially with the 100k warranty.

I completely agree, the 21-23 look incredible and better, was hoping the 2024 would grow on me. Im happy with the power on the truck and dont want to void the warranty . If i was after more power id just get the TRX or wait for the RHO order.

Smoothing out the tables and a TCM flash is worth it to me. Can always fash back to stock before going to the dealership. Most of the being covered depends on your service department. I had a bunch of non stock parts on my engine, but they still did my cam pashers under warranty. As well as a few other items. No way they didn't see the CAI or FMIC.

If you get a used truck, frees up the budget for suspension mods. (Bumps, bed supports, etc)
