HAhahaaaa.
O.K., you guy's were way to slow for even this old dude! I emailed my local Line-x dealer about 6:30 this morn to see if I could get er done today. They are closed Saturday and spray by appointment only. I also left a voice mail.
While out selling a pistol to help offset the cost I got the call from them. Come on down! So I was in at 11:00am and out by 1:30. Here is what I had done.
The basic liner in black, under the rail of coarse, was priced at $487 out the door. While there I looked at all the samples of this and that color and they had one sample with some gold metal flake that was very close to the Tuxedo Black in shade and amount of metal flake. I threw the sample in the bed in the sun and it looked really decent.
As stated in the Line - X thread, I saw a sample of the standard liner in black that had been out in the sun for 4 or 5 years here in Texas. It was not chalky at all but was some what faded to a slight flat black look. I also saw a black sample that had a gloss finish coat that they claim will last the life of the truck paint and stay shinny.
So after it was all said and done I went for the gloss finish coat and had them add some of the gold flake to it. What the hell! All told it cost me $ 650 and some change. Here are a few pic I shot quikley. Not noon time sun but a setting sun. I am happy even though there are a few texture inconsistancies which one can only expect when shooting this crap on. It will never be completly even. Heres a few pics. They took off the tailgate and the cover and did the tailgate as well. Nice touch!
