That's interesting on the beadlock wheels. The conversion rings to make it a true beadlock clearly states that it is for OFF-ROAD USE ONLY and are not DOT approved. But in their marketing, it is stating that they stay tight when going back to the "road". Hmm, someone at Ford marketing needs to change that...but yeah now, marketing never gets things wrong....

"Raptor's class-exclusive available beadlock-capable wheels gives you excellent on-and off-road performance. Using the beadlock conversion kit from the Ford Performance catalog, you can deflate them for maximum traction off-road, yet they hold tight to the rims – and stay tight – when you return to the road. The 2017 also features 17-inch BFGoodrich® All-Terrain T/A® KO2 tires* designed specifically for Raptor."

Oh, nevermind. Apparently Ford Marketing can say whatever they want and they get away with it by having a disclaimer note. So still hard to believe everything until it is actually released.

"THE RAPTOR. NOW PART ROCKET.
The all-new twin-turbo, intercooled DOHC 24-valve high-output 3.5L EcoBoost® with direct fuel injection is projected to deliver even more power than the previous 6.2L V8. And a 10- speed automatic transmission with manual-shifting mode sends that incredible power to all four wheels"

And the bead lock conversion rings double their use to protect your wheels from those nasty concrete curb scrapes.:headbang:

WTF? You apparently haven't seen them up close in person and again, you wouldn't hit a curb with them since they are NOT DOT APPROVED, considering you are following the law. The beauty ring on the existing SVT SE Raptor are over $700 EACH and you want to run that up against a curb?

Bead lock is just a fancy name for a trim ring. Kind of like a hub cap you know?

Please research what a beadlock wheel is. The beauty/trim ring does nothing to making it a beadlock. That is why the wheel is called beadlock capable. You have to purchase the actual beadlock ring from Ford Performance and move the outer bead to the outside of the wheel and use the 24 bolt ring to "lock" the bead so it will not come off when you lower the tire pressure into the teens.

So bead lock is not just a fancy name, it is a real thing. Because the bead is on the outside and it hasn't gone through DOT approval, it is not legal to drive on the street. The documentation that comes with the beadlock rings clearly states that over and over again. But look at Ford's marketing, it's deceiving. But if they did get it DOT APPROVED, that would be really cool but I seriously doubt it. We all have to wait and see....

I don't think you will ever see a DOT approved beadlock wheel from an auto maker. IHMO

BTW did you see the Gen I Raptors were FDA approved but the Gen II's are not..... true story I saw it on the internet :everything:
