Well the BFGs chunk also, but they are a great tire. My first set went to TRR twice with no chucking. A new set of BFGs went to Havoc and the rear chucked. Depends on how your drive.
If you drive the OEM tire without chunking issues your probably going to be ok.

I think airing down helps prevent chucking too. Before I aired down on the stock bfgs, bad chucking, once I aired down, so much better.

I like the bfg ATs, have had them before... Hence why I am considering them, but in a 37....

From what I understand the 37's bfg at's are made of a better material than the 35's.

Make sure to check out my falken's this weekend. They're pretty cheap and pretty much no chunking.

The SSTs are built on the same carcass as the Mickey Thompson and **** Cepek tires, from what I have heard, as they are both owned by Cooper.

As far as the BFG 37's go, they are the "other" compound that is available on the other 315 BFG ATs. The compound that comes stock on the Raptor is softer.

So replacement BFGs would actually be better?

Good info Ironman...thanks for the feed back. I go to the snow several times a season to snowboard, so snow and rain performance are factors for me.

And with all the feedback regarding the 37 bfg in the "other" compound, i'm leaning towards those now. I do remember reading about the "other" / "Non Raptor" compound on here, I think Stoner mentioned that. I'll have to look it up and see which one to get.

Please let us know regarding the compound. Like if it has a different part number or something.
Thanks

GREAT LAKES RAPTOR EXCURSIONS

Will do, all i can remember now is that the "R" rating or compound on the stock BFGs does not mean Raptor, and I want to say I remember "S" being the compound of choice. I'll dig it up and post it here.

Very interested in what you find. My goal is to also get 37's and Bigger fenders to compensate.
Just waiting on Kirk to show us the new style ones.
