Lowrance GPS install help

I just got a new Lowrance Elite 5M Baja & the Outlaw Raptor GPS mount and was wondering if anyone had pics of their install, tips & mostly what is the best way to route the power cord to wire it up & what to wire it to? Hard wire to the batterie? splice on a 12v cigaret plug & plug it in?

Any help would be much appreciated!!!! Thanks :worship:

You can pull power from the back side of the cigarette lighter. My 5M and radar detector are wired into this location.

I wired mine to the #4 up fitter switch. The only thing is it's only live when the ignition is on so every time you turn on the truck you have to wait for it to acquire the satellites, not a big pain but I just don't like to wait.

I got the same setup and spliced mine into the cigarette lighter!

Can anyone get a little more detailed for the dumd on how to get the power from what wires and such? Hehe..

Cig lighter is ideal as you don't want the gps to turn off everytime to turn off the truck on a run. As FyermanBob mentioned it can take a while to acquire.

This is how MajorAR got his wiring to the cig lighter. I pretty much did the same thing but drilled a whole where that depressed circle is.
